This offense is absolutley putrid.....No o-line play.....DM has no place to run......

Boo birds are out in full force again.....and understandably so......

Saw nothing that excited me much today, except Montgomery.

Stafford plays, we lose .. period.

Even still, Lions receivers made some key drops that could have cost us. Defense was laying back too much at the end..... again.

Big Dick Nick Kwiatkowski, fool!?

Kid is making himself some money, IMO. 2 games. DMVP in both games.

O-line pass-blocked a lot better today. The switch on the o-line is good, despite Whitehair's shitty snaps. Nagy still is allergic to Montgomery tho.

Nagy's annoying play of the day? The 3rd and 1 early, deep in our own territory, when he went empty set, 4 Wrs. False start on Massie, I believe?

Just line up and get a fucking yard.

The TD drives were what this offense could be tho. :pout:

My bad... More of an offense-centric focus on my critique...

I ddidnt see much from DM..........Our o-line play was absolute trash....DM had a couple of nice 9 yard runs but that was about it....And that coming from a run def thats one of the worst in the league....

And it was broght up in the other thread about Trubisky needing to step up in the pocket... Late in the game he takes a sack because he drops further back instead of stepping up... He steps up and he has more time OR a TON of open terrain to run.... RUN TRUBISKY... If you won't, then you are virtually useless!!!

This team barely survived the Lions at home with a backup no name qb...we’ve fallen so so hard.

Far, far, far from pretty. But at least we won, pyrrhic victory that it was. So I'll reluctantly give out game balls:
On D: Kwiatkowski and Williams
On O: Robinson

Agreed. On too many of his sacks he could have thrown the ball away.

Or could have made a throw to a receiver even. His eye level drops immediately when under duress. When blitzed... Trubisky doesn't seem to change anything. He doesn't even seem to notice until there's men in his face.

My honest opinion of Trubisky today (and I really hate being this guy)

I saw the same Mitch with the same problems. A horrendous D gave him just a liiiitttlle bit more.

TD pass to Braunecker and Robinson deep shot out of the gate in the 2nd half were legitimately very nice throws. There were a few nice throws on the TD drive to end the half which we desperately needed. Even then... not sure if anyone saw Miller sprinting open for a TD when he hit Robinson over the middle down to the 18. People will call that "nitpicking" but Mitch failing to see the field is always worth pointing out. IMO

Misfires peppered throughout the game. Robinson screaming at him over a blatant one. Horrific, horrific job in the pocket. Terrible feel for pressure, terrible job keeping eyes downfield and a terrible job of taking sacks. One knocking them out of FG range which could have iced the game making it 23-6.

He seems to have learned nothing from his fumble vs LAC. He continues to carry that ball extended out in his right hand like a loaf of bread when trying to escape pressure. I mean, Jesus... he used the ball to break his fall on a 3rd down scramble. It's odd that he's so reckless in this fashion; since he's SO DEATHLY conservative throwing the ball and terrified of interceptions.

This was somewhat close to being Mitch's first positive game. In the end, it amounted to two good drives and another TD toss to Gabriel. FWIW, I thought he actually did a great job of calmly cycling through his progressions and using his flats during those drives. Outside of missing an open Miller for a TD. But he did make up for it.

This was on the verge of being a feel good win to build off of into a game next week where we have a chance to revive our playoff hopes a bit. I really thought we'd score again and win going away.

Nagy throwing on 3rd and 1 just had me losing my mind. Montgomery was just getting going and Detroit had been on the field the entire 2nd half. Punting after that I just got a horrible feeling. Sure enough, the D breaks down and allows the Golladay TD.

It's really not some coincidence anymore. This defense (even when at full strength) is just HORRIFIC... I mean... UTTERLY HORRIFIC at closing out games. It's embarrassing. Even last year, we would go from the best D in the game to just USELESS. They got saved by a couple drops and misfires by Driskel. Also, the clock...

Instead of a win with positives from the offense (which I thought we had) this almost feels like a loss.
