If offense can move with passes early and assemble a lead the second half unleashing of JH on his former team could be amazing. If they can have success in first half.

Defense should be OK. Probably makes Trubisky look half decent early but than buckles it down.

i know allen sucks, but the weather wasn't great for throwing either. i think mitch might have a better chance exploiting this secondary with Allen Robinson vs. anything the Bills have as a receiving threat. that said, definitely attack them with the run, as that's not a strength of that d since Akiems gone down.

After listening to some really good podcasts on the game I have more thoughts.

We need DJax out there today if he is good to go. Snap counts are fine, but we need his presence. Not mentioned in the pod, but a really point made here...we need NFC wins. But also....

The Bears CBs have been really good at coming up and tackling on runs around the end. Hopefully Doug doesn’t try that “Sanders dancing around the end” shit today. Running straight ahead with Howard should have some impact since Akeem is out for the Bears. I don’t think it gets us chunk yards, but it gets us enough.

Short slant routes should be there since Pagano has this defense more in man play now, when they always worked better in zone under Fangio. He was a master of zone concepts.

Having DeSean in just helps open both the short/intermediate routes and the runs up the middle. I expect there will be an early play of taking a shot deep to him at least to scare them.

On D I think we will make Trubisky look better early on and he will make some plays to Robinson, or someone we’ve never heard of. But ultimately we should be able to force a turnover or two, and the shorter field that comes with it. We aren’t running 3-4 70+ yard drives today. But if we get some short fields from turnovers this game becomes comfortable sooner.

It's a very important game for us to get in the win column with the Patriots and Seahawks on the schedule next following the bye. If we can win this game against the Bears it gives us some leeway to split the next 2 tough games with New England and Seattle. After that, 4 out of the next 5 games (2 against the Giants, Washington and Miami) are very winnable with Dallas being the only toss-up on paper.
