After all the personnel transactions of Summer Camp and the Preseason get completed, the Rams will travel to Ford Field in Detroit to take on the Lions. These two teams met there 9 months previously in the 2023 Wild Card game which the Rams lost by a point. Should be a good game to see where both teams are for the beginning of the 2024 Season.

I have serious doubts on the defense. Until i see the rookies play, this defense will underwhelm imho. Especially with the news that Jones wants a contract, and rightfully so.. you can't expect these 2 dipshits to roll out a 3-4 with bottom Feeder, and Rozebum as your ILBs, if so then expect a good ass kicking on defense.

Yea, this E. Jones affair is rocking the crap out of the Defense but apparently the Shula adaptation of the D for this year is going to feature a bunch of Safety/ILB hybrids. Dudes who are like ole Mark Barron which didn't work out very well the first time they tried this.

If they are going to feature 5 DBs per play, 1 ILB and 5 D-Lineman, then keeping just 5 D-Lineman makes little to no sense. We are headed to a once-again, ill-prepared team for the opening trip to Detroit.

I have to think the Jones situation is due to one of two things; extravagant salary demands or strong trade offers. There is also the question of system under the new DC I suppose.

We've only seen depth guys for most if not all of the preseason, so it's tough to read what will be run once the season starts. Of course, with that being the case and the coordinator change, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Rams start slowly with or without Jones.

Our ILB situation has been an area of weakness since they let London Fletcher walk in 2001 and then adopting the attitude that Inside Linebackers are not to have major contracts. They did this with Alec Ogletree, Corey Littleton, and now Earnest Jones. In all cases, they an opportunity to keep their defense better but chose to have a glaring weakness to live with on defense.

Now that they don't have AD to depend on, the attitude of having a major weakness in the middle of the field is just plain stupid and this is typical of McShiferBrains and his myopic favoritism for the offense especially WRs.

It took him 8 years to come around to the notion that he needs a good running game to go with his passing game with good O-lineman and RBs to consistently win in the NFL. Then he goes after an injury-prone LG with gobs of money and continues to favor midget backs that can't break tackles.

Why this guy believes in this continued selectivism is a mystery and it is one reason he has been to two snooperbowls, winning one when he could have been to maybe 3 or 4. Ten-to-one, they will move Jones for next to nothing because of another stupid belief about the NFL drafts and its picks.

We shall see how this plays out

How many of those LBs amounted to anything once they left the Rams?
London Fletcher had a strong finish to his career with the Bills and the Redskins but he was surrounded by piss-poor teams but was an All-Pro four times and went to two Snooperbowls both with the Rams. Littleton went to a defense that he never fit in and his career sucked pretty badly. Same with Ogletree.

If you want to see a pretty disgusting interview with McShitferBrains, it is on Youtube where he basically gets pretty firm with the local sportswriter about his decision to move Jones based solely on Jones missing a bunch of time in the off-season while others did not. In that interview, McShitferBrains states that he thinks Rozeboom and Reeder are great LBs on the inside. They are cheap but they are not great LBs. They suck at tackling and one reporter asks McShitferBrains how he thinks those two will fair in a run-oriented game. McShitferBrains bristled at the question and he wasn't kidding either, McShitferBrains thinks rooks Speights and Neal are going to have a great year. We shall see how all this plays out.

Fletcher was a thumper at 242 lbs, our current starters are barely 230... Reeder wanted and tried his hardest to lose the SB for us with his shitty tackling and coverage ability, yet this fucking retread is going to have a great year, along with Hummel? Cali got good weed but damn. Speights received a low draft grade, I'm curious why? The defense he played on was the worst in the SEC last season, which for LSU is quite disappointing.

If you watch the Youtube vids of seasons 1999 and 2001, having Fletcher on the D was paramount to the Rams going to both Snooperbowls. He was a colossal stud in the middle. He was a squat-heavy, short stubby dominant LB and the Rams should have never let him walk. The Rams' defense in 2002 and beyond was horrible especially against the run from tackle to tackle. Dumbass greedy Queen Bitch and that complete idiot John Shaw totally destroyed our D with their complete and utter stupidity!!

Fletcher's biggest contribution was his locker room presence. The team loved him and looked up to him. He was a great motivator and cheerleader. That was a huge loss I sure hope this isn't going to be like that.
