Game Thread: Week 1: Seattle Seahawks at Denver Broncos

It is time to start discussions about opening week of the NFL season. I am reasonably confident that this will be a good game. Both teams are transitioning away from some of their stars.

I think Denver has a slight edge plus home field advantage. This will be a good test for the new offense and rookies. We will have a bit more information after cuts and the official depth chart is released.

Broncos will win. Seattle is in turmoil. Gonna take a few weeks for them to get settled, if they do at all this year. Denver starting the season 1-0, book it.

I also see this as a win for Denver but I definitely wouldn't sleep on the Seahawks. They may have a bunch of new names but there are some in the know that think Seattle will be pretty good this year. Russel Wilson can always create some problems too. Go Broncos!

The defense in Seattle took a hit, but the offense is really pretty much what it was. Which wasn't great, but it does have some chemistry and experience there so they can be tricky.

Doug Baldwin won't be at 100%. Chris Carson looks like a pretty solid RB if he can stay healthy to me. The OL has to be a bit better. I think we win a tight game that won't be a lot of fun to watch if you aren't a fan of either of these teams. Pass rush could have a nice day if they can get their hands on Wilson. He's tough to bring down but the OL struggles.

I am never confident going into week 1, but it does help that the Broncos get to open at home. The Seahawks I believe are in for a down year but they won’t go down easily in this one. Our new look offense cannot be expected to come out and light it up in the first week, but the defense keeps things under control.

I think the Offense is primed to have a big week 1. With Keenum and new offense there are some unknowns that Seattle will not be able to prepare for. Take into account that many of their stars of the past few years are not there on defense. Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, and Richard Sherman. I think there will be some chances for a break out game, but they could also fall flat on their face. We will find out in just over 7 days.

I think the breakout game is coming in week 2 against the Raiders. Gut out a 17 point performance week 1, double that for 34 a week later against a Raiders D that likely won’t be any good.

I am very excited to see Royce Freeman's season unfold. Not only do the Broncos have incredible height among receivers who can come down with the ball - and actual real sized TEs - they have Royce Freeman who is looking for the end zone every time he gets the ball. Go Broncos!

Elway and Kubes knocked it out of the park with this past draft ... When Cleveland took Ward - I knew then it was going to be a turning point ..

Love Sutton, Rolls Royce, Hamilton - and even with all that talent, I think my favorite player is The Outlaw

Moving Leary back to his LG spot will be like night and day for Bolles compared to last year when he manned that side with Max .. I love this team and what has happened .... I just wish Su'a would have been ready, but nothing like launching an new weapon on the opposing teams mid season ..
