Game Thread: Week 1: 49ers at Seahawks, 1:05PM PST

Interested to see how this game goes. 49ers' wideout group is fairly beat up and CMAC didn't practice (but says he feels great) so I'm curious to see how they hold up.

This will be a good test to see how well we hold up against an elite runningback (who for now is healthy - I don't expect CMAC to last the full season) and tight end which historically Seattle has struggled with. I would love to see Emmanwori pinned on Kittle. Witherspoon was doing okay against him until Jamal Adams concussed him (so glad we're done with that guy) but Emmanwori just matches up so much better in theory.

We didn't see Cross at all in preseason but given Lucas is healthy I'm hoping Bosa wont have too much success. I think the 49ers DL isn't quite as strong as it used to be. I'm quite excited to see an Ouzts vs. Warner moment. Warner I think is our biggest problem btw. He can shut down the mid field passing and general running game which is where Kubiak wants to operate.

Yah. Lots of question marks with Seattle in general, even including their defense (lot of older players on that DL). I can see why Vegas and folks are hesitant to bet on them.

Its not that i think. Alot of the flack we have received, or from what I have heard, is regarding Sammy D.

I'm excited but nervous. I'd love to see the Seahawks stampede right over the 49ers defense. I'll settle for a win no mater how it happens. I'm hopeful this OL is the best in a long time, but worried it could be preseason fools gold.

Zabel looked legit in preseason which is a good sign. Cross and Abe are healthy. So the line will be better this year. The question is how much better

Our secret weapon is that we have a new OC so it will be tough for the niners to prep for this one. Add home field advantage onto that and this could be a great game for the hawks.

49ers weak point last year was their Defense, How the talking heads hove a bottom 4 defense as a better team than the Hawks blows my mind. I suspect their defense will be slightly better but still bottom 10.


First games are always the hartdest to judge, both teams have not "done it for real" yet so we won't really know anything till week 3-5 of the season.

This is probably the most excited I've been about the start of a Seahawks season in a long time. Loved what I saw in the preseason and loved what they did in the draft.

I don't see a single reason why this shouldn't be a W. At home against a beat-up SF team that looked like garbage at the end of last season. Seattle is the better team. I have no clue why SF is favored in this one. Throw down some $ on Seattle ML if you can.

Lets hope The Seahawks fans out number the 49ers fans in this game. I have a bad feeling about this and think we might see a stadium dominated by 49er fans who always travel well up here. It's a sad truth that when your team "lets down" its fan base they lose interest very quickly and home games become anything but home games. It might take a solid full season with a deep run into the playoffs to bring back the home team fans and that means the Hawks have to do so in a hostile "home" environment most of this season. It's disgusting seeing the away teams fans take over but it's a product of what we have seen on the field. Lets hope this game is the first step in correcting this disgusting problem.

I mean if Kupp, Horton, and JSN all stay healthy in this game, that will probably be all we use. I don't see Seattle running many 4 WR sets this year.

I’m hoping the defense has taken some steps forward, offense will be interesting with the new additions … I’m so dam happy Geno is gone though, we were stuck in mediocrity offensively… Sam had a good year last year overall, be Interesting to see if he can build on that… He’s got the arm, let’s see if he’s grown mentally … One thing I like about Sam compared to Geno, Geno sucked in the red-zone, he was effin miserable… Sam makes better decisions there …
