Northwestern St. has been way down for a long time., but to lose to La. College is about as far down as a team can go. What I want to know is why a ncaa team is playing a naia team. I thought the ncaa forbid playing teams in a different organizationD2 Concord #567 in SP+ beats Davidson #324
NAIA LA Christian beats Northwestern State.
Pretty huge upsets on night 1.

Furman won, 20-3...Anderson is a DII school, that didn't even have a football program until 2024. Either that was a good showing by the Trojans or Furman just wasn't trying that hard on offense.Anderson (SC) at Furman - 7:00 | ESPN+

I attended there back in the late 80's/early 90's, when it was still a junior college. Hard to believe they ever got to this point. They've converted into a full university and quadrupled the size of their campus, but they still have less than 5,000 students.Honestly not a bad showing then to only lose by 17.
