South Dakota State vs Northwestern really has my attention. Week 0 to see Chip’s offense there sounds like a perfect way to experience this week.

Ill be coming back from the beach though so I will miss the game.

Memphis will probably be rebuilding this year and not as strong as normal but I’m sure they’ll be a decent program under Huff

I honestly am higher on Huff than their previous coach. I'm not sure it will show year 1 but I don't think it will take long.

Silverfield did a really good job at Memphis, led them to multiple 10 win seasons, Huff is a good coach too and I bet they’ll are just as strong under him - he was successful at Marshall and Southern Miss.

Week 0 Primer:

North Carolina vs. TCU - 12:00 ET on ESPN - Year 2 for Bill Belichick at UNC starts overseas vs. TCU. Year 1 was a disaster, can things improve? TCU must replace Hoover but Sonny Dykes always finds someone who can sling it.

San Jose State at USC - 3:00 ET on NBC - SJSU doesn't have the horses for this game. Should be a USC blowout.

NC State at Virginia - 3:30 ET on ESPN - Most intriguing game of the week IMO. It's a conference game and both teams have favorable schedules. I think UVA is the better team and they're at home but NC State has the returning QB which could prove to be the difference early in the year.

Jacksonville State at North Dakota State - 5:30 ET on CBSSN - Very interesting game. JSU is coming of 4 straight 9 win seasons. Charles Kelly is back in his 2nd year after almost winning CUSA in year 1. NDSU, the dynasty program of FCS, hosts their first ever game as a member of the FBS. This should be a fun one.

Sacramento State at Eastern Michigan - 6:30 ET on ESPN+ - Sacramento States first game in the FBS is a conference game that comes on the road. Chris Creighton has brought the EMU Eagles back to respectability over his time there but they're coming off 3 straight losing seasons.

Hawaii at Stanford - 7:00 ET on ACC Network - Hawaii should be one of the better teams in the MWC and have the opportunity to score an upset P4 win on the road here. HC Tavita Pritchard is starting a difficult rebuild at Stanford.

New Mexico State at Florid State - 7:00 ET on the CW - NMSU doesn't have the horses for this game. I want to see how the FSU's OL plays, they're the biggest question I have about this team. FSU should win easily.

Memphis at UNLV - 10:00 ET on FOX - I wish this game wasn't so late. Memphis is in year 1 under Coach Huff. They should be competitive. Dan Mullen has UNLV as the favorites in the MWC and is aiming at a CFP bid. For the latter to come true, UNLV needs to win these kinds of games.

I'm not sure I agree. Silverfield went 27-21 in conference games. That's not great considering the resource advantage Memphis has over most of the conference and where the program was when he took over. I think Huff will be an upgrade long term, assuming they can keep him.
