The sweetest thing about last night's victory was the only serenades from the Habs fans were several choruses of boos! It will be even sweeter if there's no fishing bait thrown on the ice tonight!

The Caps are coming into The Joe to "Rock The Red" Wings!!! I know that's lame, but I haven't had enough creative enhancements yet...it's still early.

Seriously though, should be a great game. I'm sensing a shootout...4-3 Caps.

I second all of those!

Someone in a thread today asked if we thought Green coming back would mess things up. Gimme a break. (1) We were playing great D before Green went down and (2) would any Caps fan ever want Sloan over Green!??!? Craziness. Green gets disrespected - he does a ton of great things on the ice.

Over Schultz? Most under appreciated member of the Caps, IMO. Buries guys in the corner. Isn't flashy about it. Doesn't blow people up. But takes someone out of the play. I like to do voiceovers for Schultz when watching the game sometimes...

"Hey there, guy... that was a nice move... just gotta hold you here on the boards a little longer... you comfortable?... oh sorry, didn't mean to pinch your neck...okay, there, it's out of the zone... you have a great day now..."

Erskine is having his best year as a Cap, but I don't think he's top 6 with the crew we've built now (Carly/Alzner growing up, Hannan added, Wideman added). If you look at when Schutlz returned from his injury - the D has been solid ever since. Erskine is the best brawler on the team though and I give him props for his improvement this year. Impressive at his age.

(PS - Edit - I'm assuming Poti is done for the year btw making the top 6 Carlson, Alzner, Schutlz, Green, Wideman, Hannan in no particular order. Pretty good group too since you have a big body and a good puck mover for each pair.)

Yeah, over Schultz. I think if he isn't paired with Green (which he might, or it might be Hannan paired with Green), he doesn't play as well, especially if it's on that 3rd "all defense" pairing. Just my opinion, and maybe it's because I don't notice him as much, which is what you said, but I think he doens't play as well
