It doesn't . Much larger sample size in basketball . Like Iowa is 19-5, Iowa St is 18-6, Iowa won head to head by 15. Iowa St is still projected as a higher seed and that's fine by me .

Not meaningless, when two teams are very similar in most categories. Head to head should always be the tie breaker because winning and losing matters.

Head to head may have been on a neutral floor, or maybe it was at a rival's home court, or maybe the best player was hurt, or it may have been a game in November and its now March, who knows? Head to head means something if it's a championship game like a conference game. It's called a "season" for a reason. Teams get seasoned for the end of the year tournament.

I'm a gophers cbb fan. We suck, and are still projected to be a better seed at this point.

UCF isn't likely to do shit because they'll need to beat a good team even if they make the tournament, and they have done that yet.

I'm of the opinion that HTH tiebreakers are a glorified version of rock, paper, and scissors. Even where used, the idea that how you fare versus teams with the same record is the next most important thing is weak. For example, suppose A is 12-4, B and C are 11-5. A beat B who beat C who beat A. So, C loses for beating the 12-4 team and losing to the 11-5 team BECAUSE they are 11-5 themselves?
