Hey Fantasy Players.....

Going to make this quick as I can.

Looking for CBS waiver wire settings since that is the site our league uses.

Currently, we use a system that is probably like no other league. I manually set the waiver on Tuesday morning. Now all Tuesday all owners put in their claim hoping to get the player or players. Now Wed. at 9 am I change the setting to free for all. So the rest of the week it's a free for all for everyone. Drop as many players and add as many as you want whenever you want until 5 mins before kickoff. However, we still allow via Commish tools pickups and drops of players as long as the ball hasn't been kicked off.... and blah blah blah..... The above was just to point out the kind of system we use, not for anyone to fully understand.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....

I would like to look into other options for CBS waivers.

What are you guys doing in money and competitive leagues that the owners like....

And goooooooo. Thanks!! -DUB-

Was in a league with no waivers last season.
Guys were waking up at 3am on Tuesdays like hyenas scavenging a zebra. Was crazy.

Waiver options/priorities always seem to be a source of contention in most every competitive league I play in.
With that in mind, if most owners in your league are good with that setup, keep it.

We had no waivers like 7 years ago I want to say. You are right the early/late night/morning people jump all over everything. That was a no go.

The owners like what we currently do but want to see other possible options to improve the process. We are always looking for improvement if it can be had. (Of course the guys getting pick 9,10,11, 12 week in week out get tired of that.)

I'm not sure if CBS has this setting or not but I do like this idea:
1. Waiver order for Tuesday late night/morning.
2. Those in the 1st round of waivers have their waiver order but if you do not use it then you keep that place or move up in place if others have for the following week. If used you go in back of waiver for first round.
3. After first round can pick up or drop as you wish.
This way a person can think about using it or not.

Other option is the Free Agent budget I know a lot of leagues use. Ours has not used it so I know for a fact first year would be wild.....

Anyone using something on CBS that is working well?

We are the same... if players dropped are on waivers for two days. Free for all for the rest.

In my main league, we do a blind auction waivers. The first one opens after the Monday night game and closes at midnight on Tuesday night (wed morning, technically). If you want to add someone, you bid on them during that time. Whoever bids the most, pays that amount for them. If nobody else bids on your guy, you get him for $1. We repeat the process on Wednesday, then open it up to first come, first served on Thursday, where it goes until kickoff of the game of the player you are trying to add and drop.

Every FCFS move is also $1.

@femurov thanks for the post. Let me sound dumb here for a bit and ask further questions.
1. Are you on CBS with this format?
2. So the Commish goes in and changes the settings each day to what you stated?
3. Changing the settings if that is what is done still keeps the blind auction money saved?

Thanks,
-DUB-

Favorite setup we ever used was 24 hour waiver periods, Tuesday, which was based on a worst to first priority, then another four 24 hour periods Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, which all used a rolling system based on the fallout of the Tuesday waiver claims, then a 12 hour free for all window starting Sunday at midnight (games started at 12 noon CST)

Same here on the Yahoo league I've run for years with no complaints. Only waivers are two days on dropped guys. Anything else is a free for all. Sitting home on a Sunday and grabbing a guy that just blew up is a common occurrence.

And I'm glad I don't pay a buck for every move. I would be about 50 bucks down already. Weird year

1. I use Myfantasyleague.com. It is a paid site ($80 or $90 per season), but well worth it for the set up and the uncommon rules that we have. We did have to adjust our ww rules to fit the system, but not much.

2. The calendar is set up for the entire season. You set it at the beginning of the year, then don't worry about it after that. You can set it to process the waivers automatically, but we do ours manually, because there is no way to tell if a guy was bid on multiple times if you do it automatically. So, I go in and do them manually between 12:00 and 12:15am every Tuesday and Wednesday.

3. The site will keep an accounting balance, but we don't use it because it does not differentiate between auctions and bids. I keep a post on the message board updated with all the auctions and who owes what for non winning bids. Then, I have to tally it all up at the end of the season and collect the rest.

Yeah...not what I meant. We have regular waivers, but after the first run it's a free for all except players dropped are on waivers for teo days. Then players lock on Thursday if they play, then lineups lock at Sunday kickoff.

And to piggy back on to what @femurov said, if you have a serious league, use MFL. It's pretty cheap when you split the cost. @TREFF uses it too in at least one league and I use it in 2. We would probably be using it in the MBBRL Leagues, but @averagejoe was too damn cheap.

We have a serious 8 man league there, the fee comes to about 8-10 bucks per person.

The customization alone is worth the price..unless you like standard blah leagues like everyone else

I"m still kicking this horse around. While on CBS these are the options:
Add/Drop process immediately (We use this now on every day but Tuesday we run the waiver worst to best.)
Automated auction process to do add/drops (FAAB)
Commish approve auction process to do add/drops (FAAB)

Selecting FAAB options looks like I can check box days it runs.
Then
Set season budget

Then
Transaction fees amount.

Any CBS Commish/Owners care to talk to me... Thanks.
