Look, I would absolutely ADROE having Vlad Jr. on my team. However, I am a tad perplexed as to why he gets praised by some like he's already established as the second coming of Christ. While Eloy has virtually had the same season. Hell, up until a couple of days ago - there were whispers from some of his own fans even getting a tad impatient.

A) 42 Games 166 PA 9 HR 19 RBI .239/.289/.452 (.741)

B) 37 Games 157 PA 7 HR 16 RBI .243/.312/.436 (.747)

I think the easy answer is that Vlad is much younger. Especially compared to Lowe who also came up last year

you should never expect a 20-year-old to play at an All-Star level immediately. but the difference between Eloy and Vlad Jr is that the latter is two years younger, which makes it a little more impressive he's outhitting him (at least in OPS+). Neither of them are lighting the world on fire at the plate, but I wouldn't say they're embarrassing themselves either given how young they are.

Vlad Jr. does have a pretty impressive K% (18.8%) for a 20-year-old rookie.

he's got some contact issues to work on and they're really starting to show. power is tremendous though, though so is Vlad's.

Both have a lot of work to do but the two years makes a huge difference when you have high potential guys like that.

I think Vlad's going to be a good 1 but I don't think he's going to be as good as people think he's going to be.

Riley is great.

Still give me Vlad jr tho.

I’ll take the extra two years and already far superior plate discipline.
riley has 4 more walks than i do, and one was intentional.

Vlad seems to have the better track record. I guess he'd be my choice. But if I could choose any player in baseball, I'd choose Mookie every time. His off years (2017, 2019) are still all star worthy because the bar he's set is so high.

Nah. I've a Mookie fan from day one. Just cuz I deplore the team doesn't not mean I can't like some of the individual players. It's just that most of the players are assholes. But not The Mookins.

he needs to get going. BA is 80 pts below last year (granted, .346). K rate has improved, which is nice to see, and it was already good. 51 walks/45 k's.
