Told someone the other day the further the Broncos make it into the playoffs the less likely it is that we lose anyone from our coaching staff. Teams start to panic when other coaches are getting hired that they like and start thinking what would happen if we wait and then that coach makes the decision they don't want this job? Or the staff they would want to put together would already have been scooped up by other staffs.

I honestly think part of what helped the Chiefs all these years is they advanced so far every playoffs that teams just didn't want to wait. If they had lost earlier they would have lost a couple of key coaches.

Broncos make the Super Bowl it wouldn't shock me if VJ is still here. The one I think is gone almost no matter what is Webb.

Agree on Webb and that is ok. We knew that when we brought him in that he wouldn't be here long. Good stepping stool from him to learn under one of the best HC's in the NFL. One thing Payton has going for him is that coaches and QB's are going to want to play for him. Payton always has a good QB 2 and QB 2 always learn and gets better under Payton. There may not be a better HC in helping out his QB 2.

Agree on Webb and that is ok. We knew that when we brought him in that he wouldn't be here long. Good stepping stool from him to learn under one of the best HC's in the NFL. Maybe Kyle Shanahan? We saw Sam Darnold learn under him to now having a thriving career with 2 different organizations. Mac Jones this year looked like a quality starter for most of his time starting.

But yes I don't think Payton is ever going to have trouble finding quality coaches to want to come work under him. He has connections galore. We see past coaches that have come here to Denver to continue under him. And now with Bo Nix looking more and more like a true franchise QB I don't think finding someone to work with him will be any trouble.

The other one that we could lose is Jim Leonard. Sounds like he has a couple of offers if he wants them. He is a good coach for sure, but the Broncos have had a really nice run of secondary coaches.

Sounds like the Raiders are intrigued by Webb, which would suck to lose a coach to the Raiders. If I were Webb though I would think twice about that job. You only get at most two shots at a head coaching job in the NFL and the Raiders are a dumpster fire with a completely sub par roster. Yes they can get Mendoza and he looks like a good prospect, but had a meteoric rise this year so it isn't like he is a sure fire franchise QB prospect. I am also not sure Tom Brady's influence is a good thing. It is just another boss and his guy is the GM so any coach will surely be a scapegoat if things don't get turned around in year two. With this roster it could be at least a several year rebuild.

#DenverBroncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph wins Pro Football Writers Association's 2025 Assistant Coach of the Year. Joseph helped carry the Broncos to a 14-3 regular-season record, and their first AFC West title and conference No. 1 seed in a decade.





Joseph's defense led the NFL with 68 regular-season sacks and ranked first in fewest yards per play, second in yards per game and rushing yards per game and second in third-down conversion rate and first in red zone touchdown percentage.

Davis Webb is going to interview with the Bills, already had one interview with the Raiders.

Hard for me to imagine the Bills hiring a HC one year older then Josh Allen with limited yet impressive coaching experience... However, I have seen weirder.

I fear Davis to the Raiders and Vance to the Cards.

The good thing with Vance is we get the comp picks but coaching is important so can't really wish for him to be gone because of that. Vance won assistant of the year this year. He deserves another opportunity. I don't know that he is a great HC (only time will tell) but we know he is a great D Cord.

Logan Kilgore was named QB coach as well.

It’s good news. I’m glad Webb is staying. Wonder if he’ll get play calling duties.

Glad Webb is sticking around. Sounds like Bo really connects with him. That said, if he is successful this next year he is 100% gone next year. Young offensive coaches get head coaching gigs.

I know nothing about Logan Kilgore other than he is a young former QB. I love that Isidor Newman High is on his Bio though. Must have coached Arch for year. Is he an upcoming coaching star? Payton does know how to assemble a great coaching staff and really seems to mentor them for bigger rolls.

Wasn’t this obvious since the firing of Lombardi?

I’m pleased with it, having younger coaches is great - at least I’m willing to take the risk of identifying bright young coaches and giving them a shot.

Huge news for the Broncos. The fact that he turned down both the Bills and Ravens to take this job says something. The last 2 MVP's of the league were available to him and he chose to stay here.
