Michael Vick of Philadelphia Eagles -- '100 percent' I'll play vs. San Francisco 49ers - ESPN

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick told reporters Wednesday that the chances of him playing Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers were "100 percent."

Vick took part in a walk-through Wednesday and his injured right (non-throwing) hand was good enough that he took snaps from center.

"It's a little sore," Vick told reporters, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I gotta do what I gotta do right now, and that's try to get back on the field just as fast as I can."

Although his hand, which has a deep bone bruise, was "pretty painful" during the walk-through, according to the newspaper he said, "I think there's a 100 percent chance I'll be out on the field this weekend."

Reid, earlier Wednesday, said Vick's injury looked better.

"I can't tell you the hand was 100 percent," Reid said in a conference call. "It was good enough to take a snap. It improved quite a little bit from yesterday to today. I expect it to continue to improve."

Although Vick is confident he's playing Sunday, the quarterback's ability to squeeze the ball and further risk of injury will help to determine if he plays Sunday, Reid said.

"If he can't squeeze the ball 100 percent or is in jeopardy of being injured further, we're not going to put him in there," he said.

The Eagles had said on Sunday that Vick's hand was broken, but a CT scan taken Monday showed, rather, that it was a contusion.

Information from ESPN.com's Mike Sando, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter and The Associated Press was used in this report.

I disagree, I know he will not be 100% but unless he gets injured again I see him playing the whole game.

Pretty much what i see happening. With his style of play and your shaky o-line he is bound to get hit a lot. That hand will be a target all game long for our guys.

That's good, if the 49ers win... now people can't say it's only because Vick wasn't playing.

If we can get to him early, I think we've got a good shot in this one. He played scared last week, and the entire offense suffered as a result. Hit him a few times this week, and there's a good chance he'll get shaky again.

100 percent chance does not translate to 100 percent healthy...Vick will be cautious when playing...Might think twice before trying to scramble. With Maclin being hurt, stopping mccoy must be the priority..We def have a good shot in this game. "Dream Team" Philly is on its heels and the 49ers are in a great position to steal a victory away from the eagles on the road.

We need to be able to run the ball and also convert on a high percentage of 3rd to keep Vick, McCoy and their offense off the field. We may have to score 30 points or more to win this game! Go 49ers!!

I don't even know if this offense is capable of that...:flypig:

Yeah, that is a valid concern, Mem. Thus far our offense has scored 5 TD's (11.7 offensive pts per game) With FG's it only comes up to 18.7pts/gm.

If we don't get points from our D or ST's, then I really think our only chance is to win an ugly, field position game...AKA our MO thus far.

Agreed!

I think it's great that Alex is managing the game and all, but at some point(s), it seems to me, he is going to have to manage a win.

Agree, Line them up and see if we can keep presure on Vick and get some push on the Offensive side of the ball. We are gonna need points, FGs, Safeties... etc. Go 49ers!!

Scary thought

Playing well while behind is actually something Smith is pretty decent at; however, managing come-from-behind victories is not his specialty.

Smith has only once managed a victory while behind in the second half by more than one score (10 points), and managing a 4th quarter comeback when behind by more than 4 points is something he has never done.

In fact, This past Sunday was his first 4th quarter comeback since 9/16/2007

So, yeah, falling behind is a scary thought.

2010 We put out Hass....Willis hit
2011 We took out Romo....Brooks hit

If we get to Vick or he starts running around, he'll get popped. We are a pretty physical team on D....
