Solid cast and I already saw him in the Elmer Fudd outfit firing a shotgun out of his car so I'm in

I expect this to be an absolute hit job and Front Runner to be an absolute knob polisher.

I will skip both, thank you very much.

I don't really care about Gary Hart, but it is uber-ironic for a Republican in this day and age to be indifferent (at best) to a candidate being torn down by the media because of his own personal sexual life...

Oh and :bawling::bawling::bawling: oh noes- liberal elitists strike again at poor Dick Cheney! Won't somebody think of the former Vice-President!!!

This movie looks awesome. The Big Short (4/5 stars) was one of the best movies of the last 10 years. Vice only has a 64% on RT right now, but I'm going to see it on Dec. 26th. Can't wait.

1) it was a different time.
2) all that happened during the primaries, not the general. I am not certain, but I suspect if that news broke during the general, it would not have been half as big a story as it was. No way was the press going to assist the fall of a dem during the general election.

And if you truly believe that the constant home-team treatment the Dems get in media/tv/movies/comedy/etc does not have a real effect on elections, you are truly clueless.

But this is the entertainment forum, not the PF. Sorry for opening the door (even though some movies kinda require it to include political discussion)

1. The media would’ve reacted the same exact way in the general election as they did in the primaries. The media was not as firmly pro-Democratic Party at the time, and you have to remember that in the late 80s, extramarital affairs (or being gay, or black, or a woman) was a HUGE deal for a Presidential candidate. Today, nobody really cares. We’ve progressed as a society (Trump needs to thank the liberals for that).

2. Maybe the “home treatment” does help. That’s not really the point here though. You seem up in arms about a negative portrayal of Dick fucking Cheney to the point where you’re not going to see what (in my opinion) looks like a great movie. As chf would say, heh. You do you bro.

The media was very firmly liberal at that time as well. It just was not as widely recognized. They were only ones with a voice. The country SEEMED more unified because only one side of the argument was ever published. Today, both sides have a voice, so the divide is more apparent.

Again, this is not the PF, so I will not respond again on this particular topic. My bad for steering it in this direction.

Some people confuse "liberal" with "not in goose-stepping 100 percent agreement with rabid right wing mediaites".

He did. It is a funny movie.

edit: Oh and it has 8 Academy Awards nominations, and 5 Golden Globes noms, and several other. So even if some consider it a drama, I would say McCay can branch out and do some more dramas.

Bale simply nails it as Cheney. It really is uncanny.
