Justin Verlander’s career has spanned the timeframe of 19.2% of MLB players.
Verlander was the 18,707th major leaguer and the current count is 23,140 for 1876 to present.
23,140-18,707=4,433
4,433/23,140=0.192 = 19.2%

FWIW: Updated iPhones do the mathing now right in the reply box or notes.

38 wins away from 300. I don't think he's gonna get there. And probably no one ever again.

I think he's the last hope for a long time, unless we see pitcher usage see a reversal towards 90s/00s usage and/or rule changes involving how wins and losses are determined. Given how he's looked in 2024-25, I'm not very optimistic he'll pitch long enough to get to 300.

If I'm following your math correctly, you aren't accounting for the players that entered the league before him, but played at the same time (for some amount of time); was that intentional?
