Had no clue Tom Hardy was in this. Most likely going to be good, don't think I've ever seen Tom Hardy take on a bad role/movie.

Venom's star Tom Hardy said in an interview yesterday that his favorite 40 minutes of scenes were all cut from the movie.

(The cuts were possibly to get the movie down to PG-13 from R, though the producers are denying it.)

A few hours later, Tom Hardy's backtracking hard and saying that "Everything I want is in it. And more."

Early social media reaction from critics who have seen the movie is that it is terrible.

This movie is starting to look like another Sony trainwreck.

When did they decide to go with PG-13? I was pretty sure it was going to be R rated.

It doesn't necessarily means that it sucks, but I'm less interested.

I don't think the movie will do well. Venom is really not a great stand alone character. He always played a secondary role to Spiderman and Venom needs support from Spiderman (or another hero) in that universe to succeed.

Generally to me the character of Venom is largely uninteresting unless they highly play up the interaction between Brock + Alien DNA, but the Marvel Universe from Disney is too stupid to do that and most audiences would be bored because audiences today are retarded and just want CGI/action fests (Infinity War being a prime example which had a TON of plot holes and wtf moments story wise).

End of day Venom is an anti-hero. Only way the movie is successful is if they somehow turn Venom into a hero. I'm sure Disney will somehow find a way to do this... save a few women from muggers/robbers, and millennials hate cops anyway... and they will introduce a villain who wants to manipulate or control Venom and Venom will naturally fight the villain to become a hero... whatever. It's another predictable Marvel movie that we can turn our brains off for 2 hours. You 100% go to these movies for action scenes... and "OMG superpowers!" Marvel movies are the definition of blow money in theaters or keep the kiddies entertained, but no adult with a properly functioning brain would actually watch any of these movies more than once (at least the crap coming out today).
