After his cortisone ankle injection last month, Utley says he's stayed off the ankle as it heals and he may return later this month. Let's face it. The ankle's been bad since January. This is a temporary fix, only.
Cesar is hitting .285/.374/.376 with 10 2b, 1 3b, 1 HR, and 17 RBIs. What an attractive OBP! If he had enough PAs to qualify, he would rank 10th out of 23 qualified second baseman in OPS (.750). With Utley's performance far behind at .179/.257/.275, it's clear that Cesar should get most of the playing time for the rest of the season. I guess Chase will fight to get in 500 ABs for vesting in 2016. Time will tell.
