I think from day one they thought Westry was a guy that could make the team...but not necessarily the 53 this year.

This guy was on my favorite college team. First two years , he reminded me of Chris McCallister. He was a highly recruited out of high school. He just never took that next team and ended up being a back up. I’m talking about Westry

How about moving that big receiver we got to TE? I think rico will not make team. I like Guyton and jonvea as guys that could push for backup duty.

With Witten back Rico's gone anyway.
I guess there is a chance he could make the team if he makes great strides but I agree with you. I get the feeling that ship has sailed and the Rico experiment is over. I'd prefer a blocking TE myself if we keep a 4th. I'm not worried about our TEs in the passing game. I think Witten will be OK and I think Jarwin has shown great potential and Schultz may end up pretty good too as he gets more experience. But, I do worry about the blocking.

I dont see 4 TEs on the roster, especially with so much talent at WR.

Probably not, but it all depends on STs. The #6 WR isn't likely to get any snaps and isn't even dressing on game day if he doesn't play 'em. A blocking TE could dress every week and play on some early downs/short yardage if he does. Remember Gallup, Cooper and Hurns don't play STs and Austin (if he makes it) only the return half and I'm guessing Cobb only the return half too? We need guys to run down and make plays. I can't say I know enough about any of the camp WRs that have been doing well to know if they can play on the KO and punt teams. I know Brown and Lenoir play them, but not sure they make the 53.

I think the team will try to hold on to every possible WR they can. As for the 4th blocking TE and Rico
I don't think Rico blocks at all. His one asset is in the red zone, now that may get him a spot.

I agree on WRs but we need to see how it unravels. It's Fool's Gold right now to see these fast guys running around in shorts and T-Shirts. I always laugh when people get excited just because guys can run and catch in this flag football atmosphere. Let's see what happens when the pads come on. Plus we will put a couple of them on the PS for sure.

FYI - I am absolutely not stating that Rico would be the blocking TE :pound:
I also don't think Rico is a red zone threat; at least not the Rico we have seen so far who isn't where he is supposed to be

For now...

This is the first year I'm not rooting for him. Gets suspended, chirping all over social media...I'm ready to just cut him. This guy has been stealing a paycheck for a few years now and thinks he is the one being wronged? He should be kissing the Cowboys asses for not cutting a guy that doesn't know who to block or where to be in his patterns.

Yeah, not rooting for him this year either. I see giants picking him up just because
