True. The Invitational Committee only uses 1 stat. TV ratings.
Same as bowl committees for decades.

2 of the vaunted P5 teams lost three games versus G5 opponents. P5 isn't automatically better.
You realize the G5 has representation on the committee, right?
Consider that a computer doesn't know what a P5 conference is or a G5 conference. Yet the overwhelming majority of P5 teams have better SOS numbers in the computer rankings. How do you explain that?
Oh yeah?
Who is that? And I really only care about P6 and non-ESP5N Cartel representation

Not the least bit worried since the other posters think identity and perception determines value in objective systems. They also think objective SOS is about schedule difficulty. But again, propping up a P5 team with two losses to G5 teams simply because it is P5 is a weak position.
Ultimately, I'm not making any claims about which teams are better and which schedules are more difficult. The point is that a G5 schedule can be more valuable than a P5 schedule based on the success of the opponents played and the criteria used.
FYI
Bowling Green also played Notre Dame.
Don’t know if Sagarin left that out, or if you just forgot to type it.
Maybe you should go back to FCS then, I heard they have a legit championship and everything.

Did you miss the Athletic director at Arkansas State?
A token often times hinders progress than letting blatant corruption run it's course.

And no, Terry Mohajir in not a P6 representative.

I know Bamers are scared of legit playoffs. You're the snowflakes who need preferred treatment.
And you should worry that UCF is the catalyst for change and the inevitable NCAA sanctioned FBS Playoff with all conference champs included.

Well yeah there is no such thing as a P6. He does represent the G5, which constitutes The American, The Mtn West, Sun Belt, Conference USA and Mid American Conference.
You're welcome for the education.

There’s no such thing as P6 but the American Conference is absolutely a tier above the MAC, C-USA and the SunBelt.
If you are going to be a catalyst for change, shouldn't you have more than one win against a top 10 team in the history of your program...I'm sure this wasn't part of your Liberal Arts education, but catalyst are not supposed to be consumed in the reaction. What is the over/under on UCF losses this year? 3? 4?

Which would be why if you use a simple math SOS you are doing it wrong. IF playing a 5-2 Temple team with losses to 3-4 Buffalo and #16 SMU by a combined 40 points makes your SOS higher than playing a 4-3 Texas A&M team with losses to #1, #4 and #9 by a combined 31 points, perhaps your system is flawed.
Riddle me this.

Crazy for a "power" conference to be left out of the NY6 in 2014 and 2016.
