First ACC matchup of the season. I will not say much about this game beyond that. I will not make any predictions, as this team showed last week that no one associated with this team, is in any position to be talking nonsense about the opponent or any other kind of premature talk -- until this program proves itself CONSISTENTLY -- ON the field.

This is a subject for another day, but I just think that under Manny Diaz, this team will be more talk and less action.

Unless it gets blacked-out at game-time, it looks as though I do have access to ACC Network and will be able to watch the game. If that is the case, I will provide as much updates as possible for those in here who don't have similar access to the game.

Canes win the toss, but for some reason elect to differ - and the UNC offense already moving the ball at will on the Canes D

Bad first play call for the Canes offense - they should try to establish the run to try to get the pressure off Williams -- this isn't the way to approach the offense when you are struggling, and trailing - even this early in the game.

And just like that, an empty first possession for the Canes

And... now the Canes are down 10-0 after a 62-yard bomb against the Canes soft D.

I smell another mediocre season for this team even this early - another season where this defense is going to be a turnover or bust defense - meaning they cant stop a team unless they create turnovers.

Lets see if the Canes have a better offensive approach in their next drive

Canes finally turning to the running game - I just hope they use there other backs as well and not overwork Deejay Dallas

A sack ruins the drive for the Canes - the pressure brought on Williams eats him alive.

Canes attempt a long FG and make it to get on the board. But they really need to not be as predictable on offense with their play calling

Canes cant tackle.

There is no sense in being a fast and aggressive defense which is how people like to describe the Manny Diaz defense, if there is no discipline when tackling. A disaster.

Amari Carter ejected for targeting. And UNC is attacking yet again

17-3 UNC after another easy drive for their offense aided by more dumb defensive penalties.

It obviously wasn't said on this forum, but in other forums I have seen comments about how the Canes D would have the edge against the UNC QB due to his inexperience - but while their QB is a college freshman - this Canes D plays like a Pop Warner team.

Manny Diaz defense is embarrassing -- but I am not surprised by it.

The Canes made a huge mistake in bulking up Deejay Dallas and moving him to RB - he would've been more useful and productive in his original WR position. Secondly, given how much weight they've had him add - he would be better off as a change of pace/power back - to continue to run him as your primary back is a huge mistake. Its holding back the offense/running game.

CFB has to change this idiotic rule of kicking FG and snapping the ball from the hashes rather than keeping things on the middle of the field like in the NFL.

Canes get their first TD of the game with 25 seconds to go. It seems they will be no more than 4 points down at the half. It is an accomplishment that they will go into the half still in this game -- thats not good enough, though.
