Solid card tonight. Holm/Nunes, askren/masdival, rockhold/Jan
Hell of a card. Tons of KOs, including a record 5 second KO by Masdival on Askren.
And then Jones BARELY retains against Santos in a split decision. Not the best fight, Bones hurt his leg at some point as well. But there will definitely be a rematch. First time ever that a judge scored a Bones fight for the opponent.
Jones won and we will hear in about a week that he tested positive for PEDs
He already tested positive last week but he as they are claiming it’s old ped’s from when he failed 2 years ago
I miss UFC on fox sports. You at least got to see still pictures right after the bout on an aftershow. All ESPN ran were top shows.
If Santos didnt pop his ACL in the 1st round he probably beats Jones.
I had Santos winning 1st and 5th rounds. Jon got the 3rd and 4th. Felt like the 2nd was as close to a draw, but I usually like to lean on strike significance so I had that round going to Santos by the narrowest of margins.
But I agree, if Santos didn't hurt his leg, we'd likely see two different things: More explosive attacks by Santos and a bit more aggression too. There were a couple of times where Santos loaded up for shots that he just wasn't able to fire because his leg buckled.
It's crazy that Dana said that he has no intention of having a rematch. I think it'd be awesome if we saw Santos fully healthy. But that being said we saw what Jon did the second time around to Gus. I think Jon would be able to adjust and we'd see a completely different fight.
