I just wonder if its going to be a fair QB competition between rg3 and cousins. Crowder should see some time this year. He is perfect for WR screens and punt returns.

My gut tells me that Kirk would have to be flawless and RG3 would have to totally suck for Kirk to come out as the starter. If Griffin looks average, he is our starter. He will get the majority of the snaps and coaching. Kirk faces an uphill battle.

Shark, you are probably right, but lets not forget RG3s injury propensity. If you were a betting man, you'd have to bet there is no way he makes it through the season, maybe even not preseason. We will see KC again behind center.
I do hope that, if they are sold on RG3 getting the full chance, they actually use him in preseason games more extensively. He needs as many reps as he can get and they need to see him run the offense as much as they can in a live fire situation. We don't need to see Colt playing a half in any preseason game. If it gets to the point again where we are using Colt as our QB during the season, the season is already over.

The key to success of our QB's are two-fold. First Gruden has to drastically curb his appetite to pass the ball. Second, our offensive line must be consistently efficient on first and second down, creating far more 3rd and short situations.

We do not have the exception at QB (Brady and what used to be Manning) What we actually do have is one guy in training aka Wilson and another who embodies skills reminiscent of Trent Green. One requires the team and play caller (s) around him to be highly functional, while the other probably won't hit the peak years of his journeyman years until he's partnered with a more seasoned head coach. BTW: it's hard to miss the Gruden v. Turner then and now comparisons.

Any one else catch in the Grant and Danny podcast that SM said he had 15 targets throughout all levels of the draft and that he was thrilled that they 'got 6 of them who he felt could come in on Day 1 and help you'.

Course I immediately was trying to speculate who these 6 were for him. Listening to him speak on each player the other day and in further interviews, I'm thinking it's likely the first 3 are definitely on his list, add in Crowder who he's mentioned a lot and that leaves tWo left.

I'm guessing Spaight was on that list.

Not sure the last one..,but I'm guessing Jarrett or Spencer. Haven't heard him talk too much about Tevin Mitchell (nor have I heard/read much about any stand out STs play from him) and Reiter seems like he could have been picked up in UDFA.

Anyone else have any speculations on the 6?

Here are podcasts of two radio interviews Scot gave today, the first with Kevin Sheehan and the second with The Grant and Danny Show. In one of them, he really sounds sold on RGIII. And he's really high on Jamison Crowder.

Crowder stepping up on returns this season would be huge. This was once a strength for the Redskins but has been pretty sorry recently. I can't tell you how many times I have witnessed the Redskins offense starting deep in their territory over the last few seasons. Starting with halfway decent field position would be real bonus.
