I haven't caught any post-game interviews, but I wonder if that 6 run burst in the 8th inning affected Cease. That was a long time to be sitting thinking about the no-no. Guess we'll never really know.

Cease was asked that question - "Did the long bottom of the 8th mess with his concentration?" Ceases response was - "no, when you have a no hitter going you can concentrate just fine." AJ Pierzynski in the broadcast booth was saying that Cease shouldn't give Araiz anything to hit and walk him if he had to - when Araiz smacked a clean single to R center. Cease was clearly disappointed in his after the game interview.

i remember the time billy pierce (the guy on the left) had a 'perfect' game going thru 8.2 then gave up a double to ed fitzgerald of all people. talk about disappointment!
