Yeah that's the best part of Guards, you can always grab a handful and one of them will come in and just flat out impress and fill a need very quickly.....

Though I'm not ruling out if the Rookie comes in and impresses right away they do make the move of pushing Peters inside.

Nate Herbig Stanford OG-

Another one that I thought would go in the 7 rounds.
I like this kid a lot, granted I've seen him over the years playing against my Dawgs,
This kid can play with a mean streak, I think his fall was showing up at the combines with his baby fat still attached.
He moved slow there, but between the chalk he can move people.

I think the Eagles will be watching the cut lists at the position in preseason. Guard is the one position I am not confident in with Brooks likely missing 4 plus weeks to open the season and nobody aside from he being really established. It's the main reason I wanted Bradbury in the draft, but I certainly can't complain having ended up with Dillard.

I think Nelson is here for the year.
I honestly believe they were quietly shopping him around.
They got no takers and of course the rumors started so they had to back track and say he's part of the package for this season

I don't see Big V going anywhere ... you don't want him in there as a starter for most of the year, but he can give you quality "backup" play at both Tackle positions. Judging from the big money being thrown around this off season on mediocre free agent Offensive Linemen, I'd say Big V actually has way more value that Nelson Agholor. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Eagles extend Big V prior to the season.

I agree with this - I don't know who or why that rumor started, we keep him this year because we need him for depth; but also he has value to us if he walks as a FA in the form of a compensatory draft pick... a lot of teams need Tackles and will overpay to get them if they don't have one.

I would be fine with them keeping Big V as a backup right tackle or something. He seems like a solid depth player. But I think it may become a financial decision. Do you pay Big V when he becomes a free agent in another year? That is the issue, like Agholor, that makes him trade bait.

I think V stays for the simple fact of no serious depth.

They have Dillard ( rookie)
Bates ( rookie and pushed inside to guard)

Not much to help out with if Peters goes down and Johnson as well

figured they would have waited a few more days for it not to count against the comp pick formula, though maybe they're getting ahead with the reporting and it's not officially signed.
