There's nary a fan here that hasn't bitched about the refereeing at some point this year. It's possible that Torts has a legitimate beef. It's no secret that NHL refs don't call penalties straight up. If Team A is up, Team B is much more likely to get a call. If Team A is down, Team B isn't going to get any borderline calls. Make-up penalties are also rampant. And of course, sometimes the zebras just totally fuck up. As far as I can tell, the refs have a mandate to try and keep the games entertaining. Accuracy might be their second mandate.

Eh, some coaches vent to the media, some coaches save it...Torts doesn't. These guys are human just like the rest of us, and every time a call goes against their team, they're more than a little bit biased. That said, this still gives full name calling rights to Pens fans for today. WHINER.
