What do you guys think the top free agents are at each position this year.

Mine are

Center-Jokinen
Left Wing-Kovalchuk
Right Wing-Stempniak
Defense-(if he makes UFA) Erik Johnson
Goalie-believe it or not, because of age and salary, Biron

Center - Saku Koivu
Left Wing - Kovalchuk
Right Wing - Stempniak (pretty weak group)
Defense - Hamhuis
Goalie - Nabakov

LW - Kovy
RW - Demitra
D - Gonchar
G - Turco

Should be a bidding war for all of those guys. Demitra's probably the weakest of the bunch.

Really? Demitra? he scares me because of injury. He's only played 2 full seasons out of his last 12 campaigns. Good player, don't get me wrong, just injury prone.

It was him or Stempniak, and I'm not sure how much to trust Stemp's over the top stats in Phoenix. It will be interesting to see what he does this year. I still regard Demitra as a 20-25 goal scorer and I'll wait and see if Stempniak can pull off a repeat.

It truly isn't a great nor deep UFA class, except for goalies. I think I'm looking forward to the Canucks (and all teams) making trades to improve their team in addition to or even instead of getting in bidding wars on Thursday.
