Who cares really what NFL players think of their peers? Of course they're gonna side with some hip-hopper QB who runs as much as he throws. These fucking idiots are still enamoured with Michael Vick FFS.

I've always said the players are the worst at analysis in their sport. Be it football, baseball or whatever. They are gifted with physical abilities but their brains are lacking aside from a handful of outliers. Most ex jocks seem to get even dumber when they go into broadcasting.

Did these guys say the same thing after Matt Ryan had his MVP season? No. NFL players and their opinions are fairly useless on just about everything. I almost believe NFLN does this so they can generate twitter wars amongst the players....and then have debates with their 'intelligent' analysts like Mike Robinson or Michael Irvin. Terrible.

Players judging other players is an inaccurate, biased list

Yeah you need to be a hip hopper like Wilson and Donald, only reason they were voted #2 and #3

I've heard they vote in November so if that's the case I'll give the players a slight break as around that time Jackson and Wilson were blowing up and Mahomes and the Chiefs were a bit on the downside.

It's still a popularity contest though and players are in the same boat as fans as they are prone to get more excited at Jackson's and Wilson's off schedule exciting plays than Mahomes just throwing rockets on schedule.

When does Lamar Jackson have to own up in the eyes of fans and those doing rankings for his 2 poor playoff games? I guess different rules for different people?

Peyton Manning lost his first 3 playoffs games, completion in the 40%'s 1 td/2 int and rushed for -5 yards

Playoff wins and success plays a role but a small role, it isn't discussed for any position except a QB but in the end, it's still a team game. Lamar relying on his legs more than the average QB, as well as this trend not working out for most QB's in the past, is why he is below Mahomes and Wilson for me. Athleticism is great but there is a reason most or all great QB's are pocket passers with great footwork first of all, of course guys like Rodgers and Young who can work outside the pocket only helps but I want to see more than one year of success. That being said, Lamar as already proved me wrong..lets see more though before we crown him the best player in the NFL.
