To me, it appears that the playoffs will come down to six teams:
NFC - Detriot, Minnesota, Philadelphia
AFC - Buffalo, Kansas City, Baltimore
There will be no Cinderella teams (sorry Washington, Pittsburgh).

I don't think Baltimore and Minnesota will make it to the championship rounds. Jackson always seems to choke when it matters most and Minnesota might be one year early (but they will be back stronger than ever next year).

AFC Championship Buffalo @ KC. Injuries and age take their toll. Buffalo wins
NFC Championship Phillie @ Detroit. Home team advantage carries the Lions in a close, high-scoring, good game.

How often do you actually get chalk playoff results though?

Chiefs and Lions have been squeaking by in a lot of games, both are at risk for an upset. I do have more confidence in the Chiefs correcting that in the playoffs than Detroit.

Cinderella Rams? 1-4 to division winners. Difficult to get a good read on them, outscoring Buffalo then win in three consecutive low scoring games.

The AFC is clearly only the 3...

the NFC... on the other hand... i can really see anyone winning... least of all the Commanders... but with the lions and vikings pass defense, i can see anyone scoring with them... and all the offenses in the NFC can all score...

'Preciate your loyalty to your hometown team. But, sometimes you have to take the blinders off. Rams are the best team in what turned out to be a weak division this year.

The Lions have been challenged in a strong division all year long. They did have a somewhat powderpuff, out-of-division schedule playing the AFC South and NFC West, going 8-0 in those games, but they are also 6-0 in their division, including road wins in Minnesota and Green Bay.

KC keeps winning, despite the margin of victory. And as the #1 seed, they won't have to play Baltimore, Buffalo will.

I think it is too early to predict the NFC. Next week’s Lions/Vikings will decide one of them getting a bye and home field and the other playing on the road.

Yep. I can somewhat agree with that. Washington and Green Bay certainly deserve recognition. I just think they are lacking the championship caliber quality. Maybe when their young QBs mature more, and the organization builds a solid offensive line and complimentary defensive to support them, that will not be the case. But right now, it is what it is.

He ain't Biff now. Now he is McFly.
Yeppers. Helluva game this weekend with those two. Defenders will be looking to hurt people, while pretending not to hurt people.

NFC feels wide open to me. Lions seem vulnerable and the Commanders have a hit rookie QB with a penchant for late game heroics. I expect upsets and fireworks.

As far as AFC, I have no reason to doubt the Chiefs making it, maybe next year I will, if they lose this year :noidea:

KC will likely have to play Buffalo or Baltimore. No guarantees Buffalo beats them (bad loss earlier this season).

Lions defense has taken a beating and will be a weak spot in the playoffs.

I'm not predicting anything for the Rams, just noting what an up and down year it has been.

Agreed, the NFC is wide open, I’m not sure who will emerge as the winner. I think all 7 teams could be dangerous, and I’m expecting lots of excitement from the NFC.
In the AFC I’ll be shocked if it’s not Chiefs, Ravens or Bills winning the conference.

I dont think you’ll find too many realistic washington fans that think the commanders are a threat to go to the superbowl, given their lack of top notch talent.

OTOH, they do have Jayden Daniels, who is better already then at least two of those qbs in the playoffs that you mentioned (Hurts, Darnold).

The season for Washington is already a rousing success.

If they win one playoff game - their first in 20 years - Jayden Daniels will be cannonized in DC.

Next year though: look out.

Not even really sure many of the matchups will have heavy favorites for there to be upsets. I just expect good games.

I think the only team that could do it is the Bengals and the Chiefs would have to let them into the playoffs for it to happen

I guess, but the Rams have legit wins against the Bills and Vikings unlike the rest of the division

The Rams did beat the vikes and bills, that’s true.

They also havent scored more than 21 points in a month and are heavily reliant on nacua and kyren williams.

What do you mean? That Bills game was less than a month ago.

You can worry about the offense, I won't.

You’re right, it was on 12/8.

Since then, stafford hasnt eclipsed 200 yards passing, and the rams havent scored 20 points.

The game before the bills game was the saints game where they scored only 21.

You’re lying or delulu if you arent worried about the rams offense after three straight goose eggs against inferior opponents.

It isnt hard to be honest about your team.

I’ll start:

The skins have a mediocre team led by exactly one weapon that scares anybody on offense, Terry McLaurin, and the presumptive Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Their secondary isnt good unless lattimore plays, and they cant stop the run.

They sometimes get pressure on the qb, and sometimes not.

They’ve won because Jayden Daniels is that Dude.

Potentially bad things is something you can't waste your yime thinking about. Injuries, refs, weather, they all have impacts on the game. Which leads to my potentially biggest concern. Injuries we don't have much depth. So you hope and assume that there are no real injuries.

I guess I can be concerned lack of experience from a lot of our core guys. The postseason is a different beast. Some rookies can get a bit overwhelmed. And we are reliant on some rookies, kicker Karty, Verse, Fiske, Brickhouse Limmer and a few others. But we also have an experienced champion head coach who is their leader.

We didn’t score 44 against Buffalo or 30 against the Vikings by accident. You play each game differently. That is just the nature of the game. Rams have won most of their games by close score with old Stafford leading with the second most game winning drives this season. Good learning experience for our young payers too. Seeing is believing.
