The results Pete and Jon has given us have been really good. With constant playoffs and a couple of SB. So you could say they have earned our trust.

Its ok to disagree. They were wrong on bevell and should have fired him YEARS earlier, but the cult followers here refused to see it.

My first pick would be for a true 4-3 DE, but we can't have them reaching in the first round! I feel like almost every one of our first round picks that we have had in the past what 5or 6 years has been a reach. If there isn't a true first round talent at DE then go BPA!

I"m hoping re resign Clowney, Reed... Build from there...

I think we all trust Pete and Jon but I will say they need to step up a little more in drafting.

Early on Pete had the advantage of knowing college players from either playing against them or trying to recruit them. That up close contact is hard to replace especially while drafting late in rounds because their a successful team.
Be nice to have them hit the mark in the upcoming drafts for sure though.

He may not have the up close contact but the scouts do. Whether it's front, middle or back half of the draft they need to start hitting on some talent.

Be great if they could.

Easier said than done but would be nice to get 2 guys who could come right in and contribute and another 1 or 2 guys to come off the bench and produce when needed.

I dont think reed will be the big ticket player in FA like he would have been last year. i think we keep him at a high cost, but not the 20 mil per he would get had he produced 10 sacks this year.

Some additional thoughts on reed/clowney.

We will have 73m or so in cap room with really only a few guys outside of clowney and reed to sign. Quinton jefferson and fant are the only other two i would bother keeping, maybe hollister.

I see no reason we cant keep all of them and still have a good chunk to make one FA splash on the OL, replace ifedi or iupati.

Only a few guys? Wait what? am i reading this wrong? i see at least 9 guys we should resign. ( noted with * )

*Jadeveon Clowney DE 27 SEA TBD $15,000,000 UFA
Ezekiel Ansah DE 31 SEA TBD $9,000,000 UFA -
*Mychal Kendricks OLB 29 SEA TBD $4,500,000 UFA -
*George Fant T 28 SEA TBD $3,095,000 UFA -
*Mike Iupati G 33 SEA TBD $2,750,000 UFA -
Al Woods DT 33 SEA TBD $2,250,000 UFA -
*Germain Ifedi RT 26 SEA TBD $2,066,276 UFA -
*Quinton Jefferson DE 27 SEA TBD $2,025,000 UFA -
Jaron Brown WR 30 SEA TBD $1,500,000 UFA -
Akeem King CB 28 SEA TBD $1,400,000 UFA -
*Jarran Reed DT 27 SEA TBD $1,222,409 UFA -
Marshawn Lynch RB 34 SEA TBD $1,030,000 UFA -
Neiko Thorpe CB 30 SEA TBD $1,000,000 UFA -
Dekoda Watson OLB 32 SEA TBD $930,000 UFA -
Robert Turbin RB 30 SEA TBD $930,000 UFA -
Geno Smith QB 29 SEA TBD $805,000 UFA -
*Luke Willson TE 30 SEA TBD $805,000 UFA -
C.J. Prosise RB 26 SEA TBD $778,116 UFA -
*Joey Hunt C 26 SEA TBD $720,000 UFA -
Branden Jackson DE 27 SEA TBD $720,000 UFA -
Kalan Reed CB 26 SEA TBD $720,000 UFA -

You will notice i have Kendricks as one we should resign, we all know he most likely has some jail time coming but seeing this was a non-violent crime and all money was returned in full he may avoid jail time. No one was hurt and no one walked away with money. The man that gave out the inside information is the real criminal here. If someone told you they knew for a fact because of inside information what the lotto numbers would be 100% would you not buy a Lotto ticket? Are you the bad guy or the person that gave you the information?

Yes, very few. fant, jefferson, and hunt are probably the other three i would keep. kendricks is garbage, we need to replace him with a draft pick or let one of the rookies play. ifedi is easily replaced, as is iupati.

im hoping we spend our 1st on a G and find another G or RT in FA. if not OL in FA, then a DE/DT should be our one big FA splash move.

I'm hoping for Fant to takeover at RT. I don't see much reason to bring back Ifedi. I would be fine with retaining Iupati, but he is not all that durable and approaching mid-30s. If Pocic emerges as someone ready to take either of those starting spots, I would be ok with that too.

Ok and what about these guys? Who would you keep? still i do not see "very few". Thes are the other Seahawks Free Agents.

David Moore WR 25 SEA TBD $645,000
Jacob Hollister TE 26 SEA TBD $645,000
Jordan Simmons T 26 SEA TBD $570,000
Emmanuel Ellerbe LB 23 SEA TBD $570,000
Jordan Roos G 27 SEA TBD $570,000
Ryan Neal FS 24 SEA TBD $570,000
Malik Turner WR 24 SEA TBD $525,000
Jeremy Boykins CB 25 SEA TBD $495,000
Tyrone Swoopes TE 25 SEA TBD $495,000

That's 30 FA on this team. Going to replace all of them?

Hollister i would keep since TE is a serious need, the rest of those guys are basically after thoughts.

David moore is a meh depth guy.

Nick Vigil 111 21 15.9%
Joe Walker 58 11 15.9%
Alec Ogletree 80 15 15.8%

So I'm guessing top priorities going into the draft should be DL, OL, and CB.

I thought our reserve linemen played really well this season with the injuries we had. Fant filled in for Brown wonderfully against the Eagles. Hunt isn't the physical specimen that Britt is, but he played very well overall at center. Jones played very well for multiple games during the times he stepped in at guard. Phil Haynes filled in well today, and that's with only 1 snap before today's game. So, I'm not as sold that OLine is a must fill, unless we let both Fant and Ifedi go - then we would need a RT.

I agree with Snuggles about Kendrick, he played well for us in 2018, but he just wasn't that good this year. Hand the spot over to Barton and get a competent nickel to fill in on obvious passing sets.

As to re-sign I would look to re-sign:

Clowney
Fant
Reed
Jefferson
Willson
Hunt
Moore
Hollister
Simmons
Ellerbe
Roos
Neal
Turner
Boykins
Swoopes

The bottom 9 because they're cheap and either RFA or ERFA.
