No hitters and Perfect games became way to common starting a few years back. I root against them now. I want them to become special again.

No hitters I agree, but perfect games? How are they common?

Seems that there is at least one per year now. Up until like 2012 or something, I could reel off all of the perfect games in my lifetime with the snap of a finger. Then Phil Humber and Dallas Braden threw one, and it kind of started feeling like it was happening quite a bit. Especially since those two pitchers literally were nobodies and in-and-out of the MLB in a few years.

EDIT: Eh, I'm wrong... just three that year, and Braden was 11. None since 2012, but I could go a bit more without one.

Braden, Halladay, Cain, Felix, Humber in the span of three years is quite a lot

Over the 140 years of Major League Baseball history, and over 210,000 games played, there have been 23 official perfect games by the current definition. No pitcher has ever thrown more than one.

I root against them as well, but not because they have become too common. I root against them just because I want them to continue to be rarified air.

And of the 5 you mentioned, 3 were by stud pitchers. Can't really complain about that.

Marlins pulled Chen who had a no no through 7 because his pitch count hit 100 ... 6 outs from a no no and he's pulled up 5 runs ... I don't know man, seems like managers are being overly wimpy about that 100 pitch count...
