Obviously Snell is the key to any team making a run this year unless you are Patrick McCaw.

Who would you offer to get the elusive Snell for a playoff run

As a Raptors fan everyone is on the table except McCaw

Honestly surprised the Clippers, Lakers and Bucks have not gone after him. Don't they know he's won 3 consecutive championships. He is the key to victory.

Buddy... The Pistons didn't add Snell to trade him, but to use him and even to resign him after his contract expires...

Neither the Bucks wanted to trade Snell to the Pistons, but they did because they needed to create cap space so that they can bring all the starters back this past off season...

The problem was Hill's contract, which the Bucks couldn't extend, but had to waive him and then sign him back at a lesser contract out of free agency... If the Bucks would have kept Snell, they would go over the (soft) cap and then, they wouldn't have the right (according to the CBA rules) to resign Hill, but had to lose him... Understand?

The Pistons only traded for him because they got a 1st round draft pick back for taking him on. That's what you do when you have players that NO ONE ELSE WANTS. LOL. You have to attach assets to get rid of them to another team. Simple concept.

I'd give up a valuable $2 bill and baskets of assorted soaps from Bed, Bath and Beyond for Tony

The Pistons traded for him because it was to their benefit as well as for the Bucks... The pick was absolutely useless (to the Pistons too) and that's why the Pistons trade it again for 2x2nds (so that they can fill two roster spots cheap instead of one)... The Pistons got back the pick only because they added salary in their cap space for another season than waiving Lure themselves...

The Bucks gained the ability to resign Hill out of this deal and the Pistons gained Snell to add in their starting roster for two seasons... A win-win trade by all means for both teams.

I was just wondering when you were on that recent business trip in Philly how did your lecture at the chess seminar go?

The Pistons actually traded it for 4 (FOUR) 2nd round draft picks and Cash.

The pick was incredibly valuable.

For the record for as good as Snell has been from deep if he keeps this up they could flip him again next year for decent I'd think

Snell was always the same good as he now is with the Pistons... A clutch shooter, capable defender and great positioner to make him self available...

They could flip him, but they won't... The Pistons have other priorities to fill first after they decided on Doumbouya to be their future and long term leader and even after it's time to look at upgrading Snell's starting roster spot at wing, they'll keep him to have for back up...

Same as the Bucks did after they signed Giannis...

Yes.

He was always the same. A decent role player making more money than his production is worth.

What does that make him?

A bad contract.

I'd give up Anthony Davis. He's injury prone and his next contract is gonna be expensive. Sell high on him now. Lebron + Snell is a great combo

I mean it really just depends what he wants. If he wants 12 mil again that's a stretch and I would see the Pistons moving him to a playoff contender who could add a deep threat.

He's shooting 42 percent from 3. That's pretty damn good. But he's not a starter level player on a good team.

The better question. Do you understand YET?

Exactly this... At some 7-8M per nobody would complain and that should be his salary, but when teams are rebuilding, they sometimes overprice players in purpose as long as they don't pay the lux tax, so that they can put together a good packing if an opportunity comes up...

I do believe the Pistons will keep and then resign Tony (obviously the extension will be on lesser salary), because he is 28, he can provide solutions, he is consistent and he fits their time plan to (gradually) built around Doumbouya while retaining a competitive team...

He likely doesn't start if Blake wasn't injured....and this is a team that is already starting Svi at SG (yikes).
