I'd be surprised if he retired but his wife wants him to.

I bet this is it for him.

This year was his last best chance to win with Tampa. Tampa is set to lose some important pieces this offseason (Godwin, Pierre-Paul, Fornette, Suh, Jensen) and they simply dont have the flexibility to bring back more than one or two of those guys if that.

I think Brady will look at the fact that next year would be a bigger hill to climb than this year was and just decides its not worth the hassle if he doesnt have a legit shot at adding a ring at the end of the year.

The window isnt closing for Tampa but they'll have to make some roster moves. My gut says 1 more year just because he played so well. If he had a season where he was the 10th best QB then I think he would've hung it up. He had a year where he was playing at MVP level. Normal people might walk away. The Tom Brady's of the world probably dont.

NFC South is a bit of a mess right now. Falcons have one of the weaker rosters in the NFL. Panthers have a defense but a mess on offense. Saints were in cap hell and are basically rebuilding..rebuildingish.

Buccs are in cap hell as well, correct?

I do think he comes back for one more year given how this year ended for him

I think all of their RBs and TEs are in limbo as well as parts of their dline. But they can still come back with a playoff team. Just maybe not the deepest team like they had at the start of this year.

If Brady doesn't come back then the Bucs could certainly hit the rebuild button.

Would not say cap hell yet... have $14M presently it appears

However... Brady is $18M hit this year... if he walks away there is $40M of dead money, so they would then need some restructuring to get under and then also make some room to operate.

Still not as bad as compared to Cowboys $25M over, Packers $38M over and Saints $76M over.

I am wondering if the Buccs will be pressuring Brady to make a decision sooner than later so they can start the rebuild

Can vary depending on site you visit and what date they are looking at...

Example see out there for Packers with "projected cap" and where they are at on different dates. I assume the above is 1st day of 2022 NFL season for Packers.
