Brown is a bit of an enigma. He has shown some flashes, but no consistency. Guess you would have to rate him as a bust by now, considering he was a first round pick.

But hey, he may be one of the reasons we have Grigson at the helm now. Until proven differently, in Grigson I trust.

hey Colt fans how is Amad Bradshaw looking this offseason? I drafted him in my FF league thinking he is going to get a monster amount of carries this season. Is this true or will he be splitting carries with Ballard and brown?

Well that was one gutless attempt at winning in Dallas! Can't even catch the simplest of passes! This whole season has been awful with overpaid, over-rated athletes! It's been pathetic from the start and ending in a whimper with "must win" games becoming blowouts in the other direction! Truly pathetic!

Update on Andrew Luck...

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before. Actually, you have heard this one before. And you’re about to hear it again.

The Colts are targeting a training-camp return from quarterback Andrew Luck from his shoulder injury.

Last year, the Colts seemed to be resigned to the possibility that Luck may not be ready to participate in training camp as the offseason program concluded. It was regarded as a surprise at the time, and some regarded our effort to read between the lines as #clickbait and/or #fakenews. Obviously, it was neither. (For a change.)

This year, the target continues to be training camp.

“[The] timeline’s good,” Colts G.M. Chris Ballard said during a recent visit to PFT Live. “You know, he’s actually not even throwing a football. He’s doing everything we’re asking him to do. He’s got a program specifically laid out that puts his timeline to be back at training camp. He didn’t want to skip a step. I don’t know if he skipped a step last year, but I think he felt the pressure of coming back. Not rushing; I don’t want to say rushing. But, you know, he felt the pressure of coming back. And he couldn’t get back right. This year, whenever he sat down with me in early January he said, ‘Look, I don’t want to skip a step. I want to do this the right way.’ And he’s doing that. He looks the best I’ve seen him. His body’s in great shape. His arm feels really good. He’s just taking it step by step. We’re looking at training camp as our target date right now.”

Plenty of people won’t believe this, given the history of statements from the Colts that have ended up being not believable. Does Ballard have concerns that there’s so much doubt about the veracity of the team’s statements about Luck?

“No, I get it,” Ballard said. “I get it. And I don’t blame the people for asking the questions. That’s why I don’t mind answering it. I mean, it was unfortunate last year. I mean, that was a blow to us. There was never a point that we didn’t expect him back. I think maybe that was being a little too optimistic in our eyes, but we expected him back. I get the questioning. Until Andrew steps off Week One and walks out of that tunnel and starts playing again, we’re still going to answer questions. There’s still going to be doubt. And I get that. That’s why I don’t mind standing up there answering the questions. I don’t mind and I get where the doubt comes from.”

It definitely will keep coming until Luck can play. And play well. And then the question will become whether and when he suffers the next injury that make shelve him for an indefinite period of time.

Free agent safeties have not been a popular item for teams shopping for players this offseason, but a couple of them are getting a look from the Colts on Monday.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Colts are meeting with Tre Boston and Kenny Vaccaro. Vaccaro visited the Dolphins last month, but the market has been otherwise quiet for both of them.

Boston had 79 tackles and five interceptions for the Chargers last season. It was his only season with the Chargers, who signed Boston after he was waived by the Panthers last May. Vaccaro, the 15th pick in the 2013 draft, had 60 tackles, 1.5 sacks and three interceptions in his fifth season with the Saints.

The Colts took Malik Hooker in the first round of the 2017 draft and is recovering from a torn ACL. Boston or Vaccaro would give them an experienced partner for the second-year player or some insurance in the event he’s not ready to go in September.

Running back Terrance West continues to look for a job. He visited the Colts on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.

He visited the Eagles last week.

West, 27, appeared in only five games for the Ravens last season before injuring his quadriceps on October 8. Alex Collins became the lead back in West’s absence last season, making West an inactive on game day upon his return.

The Colts drafted running backs Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins but still could use depth.

West has 1,816 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in his career, having spent time with Cleveland, Tennessee and Baltimore.

Colts coach Frank Reich wasn’t lying when he said quarterback Andrew Luck was “real close” to throwing actual footballs.

Today he did, though only to people very close to him.

Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star was like the guys who get video of Bigfoot, providing the footageof what was thought to the a mythical creature.

Luck apparently threw about 10 passes, mostly to retired wideout Reggie Wayne, and they were all around 10 yards.

While that doesn’t seem like much, it’s the first time anyone has seen Luck throw a football since last October’s failed attempt to come back from shoulder surgery.

Luck is scheduled to talk to reporters after practice.
