Yes 2 but the loss was more on Campbell and the mistakes on defense. Mostly Campbell though.

I agree.

But they chose the wrong kicker. And that's inexcusable.

I warned others last week that Campbell's penchant going for 4th down would come back to haunt him.

It did today. Twice.

I was fit to be tied when he went for it on 4th & 2 at the 50 in the 2nd quarter.

I was fit to be tied when he didn’t in the fourth quarter. The offense with one more successful play should have been able to win the game. Play to the team’s strength.

Let’s hope this is a lesson learned.

Game clock management has been atrocious all year.

I wouldn't go so far to say it's been atrocious, but it certainly has been questionable on 3 or 4 occasions whether it was during first or second half in these three games.

He has to learn from those mistakes immediately or this team is looking at 4-5 wins overall this season rather than 7-8 wins.

That call to go for it was completely ill-advised as Minnesota was just coming off their first points of the game. Vikings score on a short field to tie the game.

It was a coin flip as to who honestly was the better PK during pre-season and training camp.

Patterson looks to be the more logical choice at this time, but if I'm being honest, his leg isn't stronger than Seibert. Patterson is more accurate under 45 yards when considering last year's play.

During the fourth quarter in each of the last two games the opponents O-Line was better at nullifying pressure from our D-Line. Each of those games fourth quarter play by our D-Line seemed sluggish. I don't have a clue as to the real reason, however in this last game both Charles Harris and especially an unhealthy Hutch played far too many snaps in my opinion. You've got to give your main players that are on the Edge more rest regardless of how much money their being paid. Hell, every player is still trying to get into game shape but that sure as hell no longer exists during the pre-season. Game #3 snap count for McNeil is a bit too much.

Game #3 @ Vikings

EDGE:
Charles Harris: 66 (92%) — 6 (21%)
Aidan Hutchinson: 57 (79%) — 6 (21%)
Julian Okwara: 20 (28%)
Austin Bryant: 19 (26%) — 6 (21%)

DT:
Alim McNeill: 58 (81%)
Isaiah Buggs: 38 (53%)
Michael Brockers: 19 (26%)
Benito Jones: 13 (18%) — 6 (21%)

Game #2 versus Commanders

EDGE:

Aidan Hutchinson: 60 (81%) — 2 (6%)
Charles Harris: 52 (70%) — 2 (6%)
Julian Okwara: 33 (45%) — 2 (6%)
John Cominsky: 31 (42%) — 2 (6%)

Alim McNeill: 44 (59%)
Isaiah Buggs: 40 (54%)
Michael Brockers: 25 (34%)
Benito Jones: 22 (30%)

Brockers is pretty much nothing other than a body on game day along with being a veteran to mentor these young D-Line players.

By the way, he had his contract re-worked two weeks ago do they could gain 2M in cap space for this season. Instead of having 1.9M in dead money next year, it is now 3.975M. Not really a huge ordeal but nonetheless it happened again.

I posted all three games of Goff's 3rd down conversion attempts- those are strictly when he's in pass mode - for the sole purpose to note that if this team is going to have any aspirations of winning Goff has to average a 60% hit rate over the course of the season on 3rd down conversion attempts when it's strictly a passing situation. He'll have 4-5 games a season where he won't hit that mark, but the rest of the games he'll have to be even more efficient.

Goff 3/12 on 3rd down during Game #3.
Goff 5/12 3rd down conversions during Game #2
Goff 7/12 on 3rd down conversions during Game #1

season to date 15/36 = 41.66% = on pure passing situations on 3rd down conversion attempts.

These noted 3rd down conversion attempts do not include any rushing attempts whether by him, an RB or other skill position player.

All WR need to work on running better routes along with Goff has to come into sync with all receivers on timing, pre-snap route recognition according to defense alignment and lastly, Goff has to get better with his accuracy on all 3 levels of play and mostly his deep route passing.

I will commend Goff for his ability to maneuver in and around the pocket in this last game. It may be his best to date since coming here.

We need more of this from Goff in remaining games.

There does exist a possibility that both Swift and AR-SB do not play this weekend versus Seahawks.

Swift is nearly a given in that he won't play, and I think DC should make the same decision regarding AR-SB. Give AR-SB at least this upcoming week off and see where he's at next week before traveling to the Patriots. It's still a long season ahead and there's no reason to cause any further damage to a player who's obviously Goff's go to receiver.

The NFL realigns the waiver wire claim order based on records after Week 3. Instead of using last year’s draft order (before trades), it’s now based on 2022 records.

The Lions are in a gaggle of teams grouped at 1-2, but then the strength of schedule in 2022 factors in. Detroit is tied for 14th with the Commanders — who they beat in Week 2 — and the Patriots. If more than one team puts a claim in on a player, it’s decided by a coin flip.

I was fit to be tied both times.

LB Board has been top PFF Defensive performer the last two weeks.
I tried to tell everyone that during the pre season too.
