Thanks, but ND deserved to win this game. Jones is a hell of a RB.
jones is not a bad running back, but there was something else going on. usc gave up 308 yards on the ground.

Yeah you're right and that is why Helton and Pendergast have to move on.

seems usc played good pass defense, poor run defense. not sure if that is play calling or talent.

Well.. obviously the ND o-line did a GREAT job too, but I was surprised that SC defense didn't contain the "run" better. They are usually much better against the "run" than the "pass". Last night was the opposite... :noidea:

That horrible second quarter was a disaster for the Trojans. But still glad they at least made a GOOD comeback try in the second half!

seems notre dame and usc's gameplans both were to protect against the pass, thus giving up a lot of run yards. I was a little surprised at how often nd ran in apparent passing situations. so play calling might have had a lot to do with it.

hopefully usc gains some confidence going forward with their performance.

It was a combination of us being thin on the defensive front and ND having a gigantic o-line.

Also, our defense likes to play pretty aggressive and bring a lot of stunts and blitzes.

ND was able to use that to get a couple of good runs as well.

lol

I rarely post during games.

Better game than I expected. I knew those missed scoring opportunities in the first half would come back to bite us in the ass.

Yeah... that 2nd quarter was a disaster for SC. So close yet soooo far away! :tsk:

Yep. It was good to see them come back. If the defense was able to hold them to a field goal on that last drive, we may have won the game. But they were out of gas.
