The calendar moves forward even if the White Sox don't. It seems to me the Sox do better playing inside the AL Central - so maybe they win some games this weekend.

Nice game by the Sox last night. The Sox were no-hit through 6 innings but came out in the 7th with 4 consecutive hits and took 2-0 lead. Eloy on a 17 game hit streak. Romy Gonzelez playing top notch D at 2nd base and maybe waking up at the plate.

Every run in the game scored on a passed ball or a wild pitch. I don't think I've ever seen that. But yes - we will take dat one.

Right, I wonder if 3 is the record for most runs scored that way exclusively in a game (all 3 were wild pitches, no passed balls officially). Gotta be close at least.

They gave up 0, 1, and 2 runs in the series and didn't score much especially the first 2 games (and even the 3rd, they weren't doing much until the end). Pitching is what matters. Lynn looks washed up. Cease has to be better (and no reason he can't be), same with Kopech and Giolito. The pen should benefit now that Hendricks is back.

They need to get close by the end of July, or they will be sellers. No reason they can't, the division is very weak, only 6 back now in the loss column. If they can't get over the hump they will likely deal Giolito and Grandal at least.

We don't play a sub .500 team from now (starting tomorrow vs Yanks) until 6/30 when we get Oakland.

Strap in. We're going to actually have to play good baseball to win. Not just coast against AL Central opponents.

EDIT: Correction... Mariners fell below .500 yesterday. But still a team that's been over most of the year.

I hadn't checked the advanced schedule recently, but I figured we were due for a stretch of games against winning ballclubs. It's why I've been so disappointed with our season to date, this latest sweep against the Tigs aside. We've had a relatively winnable schedule for much of the year, and yet we're 9 games under .500, definitely not the sign of playoff-bound team.
