Sounds like an OK pickup in a needed area (bullpen) without giving much up (if at all).
Well, if they want to drastically improve their bullpen, then he'd still be worth pursuing, but the cost for Nathan is probably silly and not worth it.It should kill any talks about Tigers trying to land Nathan.
I'm hoping (from a fantasy baseball perspective) they keep him as their closer
Solid depth guy, I guess. Do they think this is going to solve their "problem", which isn't really a problem, though?

The very early word I am hearing is that Veras will not close in Detroit, and that they will stick with Benoit for now. So, those who have Veras as a fantasy closer would be well served to at least start looking for other options.
Benoit has been doing so well that I'd be irked if we fixed something that wasn't broken.

Tigers are saying Benoit stays as closer, Veras is the setup man. I wonder if they keep Smyly in long relief or if maybe something else is brewing...moving Porcello, perhaps?
