These five Mtn. West Conference football teams can win their respective divisions. Boise State, Air Force and Utah State in the Mountain Division and San Diego State and Hawaii in the West Division. All times listed below are Mountain Time zone times.
MOUNTAIN DIVISION CHAMPION CONTENDERS
BOISE STATE - 6-0 MWC - 9-1 overall. BSU beat Air Force 30-19 this season. Remaining games are:
AT Utah State next Saturday (Nov. 23rd) at 8:30 p.m. (on CBS Sports network)
AT Colorado State Friday (Nov. 29th) at 3:30 p.m. (on CBS Sports network) - TWO road games in 6 days
AIR FORCE - 5-1 MWC - 8-2 overall. Air Force beat Utah State 31-7 and lost to BSU 30-19 this season. Their remaining games are:
AT New Mexico next Saturday (Nov. 23rd) at Noon (on ESPN 3)
Home vs. Wyoming Saturday (Nov. 30th) at Noon (on Facebook)
UTAH STATE - 5-1 MWC - 6-4 overall. Utah State lost 31-7 to Air Force this season. Remaining games are:
Home vs. Boise State next Saturday (Nov. 23rd) at 8:30 p.m. (On CBS Sports network)
AT New Mexico Saturday Nov. 30th at 2 p.m. (on Facebook)
IF Boise State wins at Utah State next Saturday they will be the Mtn Division champs regarding of what Air Force does. If Utah State beats Boise State next Saturday there could be a three way tie between Boise State, Air Force and Utah State and as I understand it that favors Air Force in the tie-breaker system however Air Force still would have to beat Wyoming on Nov. 30th. If Air Force loses to Wyoming and Utah State beats Boise State then Utah State would be the Mtn Division champion of the MWC.
WEST DIVISION CHAMPION CONTENDERS
SAN DIEGO STATE - 5-2 MWC - 8-2 overall. San Diego State lost 17-13 to Nevada but Nevada can not win the West Division championship as the winner of next weeks game between SDSU and Hawaii will decide it.
Remaining games are:
AT Hawaii next Saturday (Nov. 23rd) at 9 p.m. (on Facebook)
Home vs. B.Y.U. (Nov. 30th) at 7 p.m. (on CBS Sports network)
HAWAII - 4-3 MWC - 7-4 overall. Hawaii beat Nevada 54-3 this season but again Nevada can not win the West Division championship.
Remaining games are:
Home vs. San Diego State (Nov. 23rd) at 9 p.m. (on Facebook)
Home vs. Army (Nov. 30th) at 10:30 p.m. (on CBS Sports network)
Bottom line is whoever wins next weekend's game between San Diego State and Hawaii will be the 2019 Mountain West Conference champion of the West Division.
