Just curious. I just started getting into it over the last few months.
i've never really developed a taste for the really hoppy beers.....which is weird because i like pretty much every other beer (except that rancid piss water that they write "michelob" on)
I like them usually, but there's a saturation point where adding too many more hops makes it taste very medicinal to me.
Lots of options out there
I used to subscribe to a similar thought, but the Ninkasi Tricerahops changed my life.
Never even heard of that...
There are a few strong IPA's that I don't find to be medicinal, Like Stone's or Southern Tier's, but some other ones I just can't drink.
My tastes have changed a lot in the last decade too. I've migrated more towards the darkity kinds
I used to love me some regular Michelob, but they don't even sell it in New York any more. They only sell that Ultra crap, and I agree that it's a poor excuse for a malt beverage
Most are too hoppy for my taste, I prefer the EPA's
Almost all of the best beers are IPA. And pricey. Ill have about 1 or 2 a week but there is so much variety out there that I dont really have a favorite. I just keep trying new ones.
There was a time when I would drink nothing but Bass, but after they got bought out by Miller (I think it was?), it just didn't taste the same.
So many good beers have been ruined by the Macro-brewers
Isopropyl Alcohol has no place anywhere near beers.
Do you like Anchovies?!?
My regular rotation:
- Stone: IPA, Enjoy By and Ruination
- Ballast Point: Sculpin and Dorado (regular, not the watermelon abomination)
- Lagunitas: IPA, Sucks and Lil' Sumpin Sumpin
- Bear Republic: Racer 5
- Pizza Port: Swami
- Firestone Walker: Union Jack
Or whatever's on sale.
No, I will not sniff your taint.
Never seen that brand, either. I like the ones in the red and yellow can:
