They chose to honor Hawaii head football coach Nick Rolovich as the 2019 Mountain West Conference football coach of the year.

Yet Rolovich is 0-2 this year (alone) against Boise State's Bryan Harsin. In fact Rolovich's team has been outscored this year 90-47 in those two games in 2019.

Yep..........the voters for the Mtn West Conference awards sure know their stuff alright.

I don't know enough about the conference other than a small interest in CSU, but I would imagine there are several factors involved such as rebuilding a program or the fact Hawaii has tremendous travel time for away games?

Whatever point you were trying to make here failed to hit the mark. As these "factors" you mentioned here have nothing - at all - to do with how voters in the MWC vote for as far as Coach of the Year.

Fact is Bryan Harsin has been the head coach at Boise State for six years now -2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019. The years in Bold print are the years Harsin's team won the MWC championship. Additionally Harsin's Boise State team has been in the MWC championship game the last three years (2017-2018-2019) and four of the six years he has been the coach at Boise State. During that time period no other head football coach in the Mtn West has a won/loss record that is even anywhere near what Harsin has compiled in those six years. That being 64 wins and 16 losses. Which equates to an 80 percent win percentage.

Despite having the best win/loss record in the Mtn West Conference (by far) Harsin has NEVER been honored as the MWC Coach of the Year. Not even in ANY of the THREE seasons his team has won the MWC championship.

Rolovich -who I personally like - has been the head football coach at Hawaii for four years. During that time his win/loss record is 27-27 (an even .500).

The 2nd best won-loss record for a head football coach in the MWC is San Diego State's Rocky Long. His win/loss record is 80-38 at San Diego State. That equates to a 67.8 win percentage.
