This Year's QB Conundrum

If Lock plays himself into the 2nd string QB, then the Broncos can keep Flacco and Lock - and put Rypien on the PS. If Lock is not the 2nd best QB - and Hogan has a job, then the Broncos will have to keep 3 QBs on the Roster - Flacco, Hogan and Lock.

With 2 QBs the Broncos can keep 4 TEs, 4 RBs (including Jano), 6 WRs and 8 Olinemen (=24). They usually take 24 roster spots for the offense and 26 for the defense and 3 special teamers. If the Broncos have to keep 3 QBs on the roster - the defense or the Oline will have to give up the extra slot.

A lot rides on Lock showing himself to be a 2nd stringer at QB.

Any chance Rypien would be claimed before getting to the PS?

If we can get him to the PS the great, but he was impressive enough I don’t wasn’t to lose a guy that shows promise. If we can get the next Gary Kubiak that is a huge win.

Rypien didn't look too sharp in the HOF game. He was up and down a lot. Not a stable guy that you want as a back up, like Hogan was. And Lock was pretty bad. You can't really judge a guy from just one game, but if I had to I'd say that Rypien's headed (safely) to the Practice Squad and Lock is our #3QB.

Just for shits and giggles go find some film of Sloter in the preseason of 2017. That's a guy who you worry about making it to the Practice Squad. Compare his play to Rypien's.

I didn't reading anything except the title of the thread. Didn't realize a harmless joke about the Broncos would upset you so much. Well don't get your John Elway Underoos in a bunch okay?

I have nothing against the Broncos & have gone to at least one game a year at Mile Higher Stadium since the 2010 season.
