It's still the first half and the Skins have 3 turnovers and turned the ball over on downs.

Maybe it was entirely Gruden and Dalton really is an All-Pro, SB caliber QB.

But seriously, both these teams are effing terrible.

Manzeil and Hoyer look like trash, and the Skins are still the 3 win Skins of last year

To be fair, the one team Gruden consistently was awful against was the Browns.

The only issue I had with Gruden was: He allowed Andy to throw the ball more than he needed, or more than Andy can handle. He's not a 45+ passing attempts per game QB. Sure, down 20 or something, I get it. However, most games were close enough. He also de-emphasized the running game 3 straight years. I can't remember the % exactly but the Bengals went from a nearly split run/pass balance to nearly 60% passing by the end of last year.

While I understand the runing game wasn't the best, the OL was good enough, and more emphasis on the run probably would have helped.

Are we going back to run, run, pass, punt this season? Those were fun times.

Didn't I read somewhere that they brought Brat back as a consultant or something?

I don't think it will go back to that, either. They have a lot of options on offense. Hue will remember that the QB is the only one who can make things happen. Gruden often fell inlove with watching all the passes. Hue is more balanced. With GB and JH...there's no reason that this team can't move back to a more balance split on offense which would benefit everyone, but mostly it would benefit Andy and relieve a lot of pressure from him.

I've said it since last season...there is zero reason he should have been in the top 7 or 8 QB's in the NFL in passing attempts.

I know it's usually a good idea to completely disregard the preseason but it's hard not to notice how badly Cousins is out performing RG3 in Gruden's system. I wonder if there's a scenario where Gruden would consider a switch if RG3 keeps struggling like this in regular season

Is it his call to make?

RG3 has always been overrated.

If he likes his job, no.

Unfortunately for him though, he's in a lose-lose situation. Play RG3 and get fired for the lack of success. Bench RG3 and get fired for not trying make work the horrible trade Washington made.

it' snot that rg3 is over-rated. he was great, but, like a lot of scrambling QB's he got his ass knocked a few times and started to suck.

The media loves to turn up their hype machine on and take guys like Manziel and Griffin and build them up and turn them into characters like "Johnny Football" and "RGIII" and say they're the best things ever, and then as soon as they don't perform they turn on them and destroy them on the way down.
Wait until the Seattle defense comes back down to earth, and they stuggle, people will be jumping off the Russell Wilson bandwagon so fast.
