That is pretty amazing (in a horrifying way). I think they get to 20 wins, but it'd take a small miracle for them to make the playoffs.

Well they're 2-0 and leading 3-0 against the Ducks right now. Pretty good start to get to 20 wins.

They have two exciting rookies that look pretty legit right now. Might be a good core to build around for the future. What they currently have surrounding them is not all that great.

Don't look now, but this team had EVERYONE fooled....

--Top ten in goals per game and the PK
--Sitting 2nd in the Pacific
--Young players like Max Domi, Anthony Duclair, and Oliver Ekman-Larsson performing
--Plenty of cap space should they need to add a vet or two
--No one in the division (aka Anaheim, Los Angeles) exactly running away with things, further cementing this team's shot at a post season berth.

Now...will any of this last?
Who knows.
But the Calgary Flames last year played well above their heads with a combination of young players, dynamic play, and unique generating of offense (i.e. based almost entirely on the play of the defense).

Dave Tippett is a smart coach...and if his players can execute, he surely can raise the play of the team to be much more than the sum of its parts.

I'd STILL like to see another Calgary resurgence (hell, an Edmonton one would be nice too), but in the meantime, for pure unadulterated fun watching a young hockey team, hey, this Arizona team fits the bill!

Wheels have come off in a pretty big way in the last month. In fact, they are currently tied for 6th fewest points in entire league at moment

not as bad as last season, but once again, until this franchise has a legit playmaking star, this franchise will continue to be garbage, no matter where they are playing

team should trade Doan to a contender and let him play for a playoff team before he retires, enough is enough

Considering the incredibly low standard most of us had for them, they've probably slightly exceeded it. That said...who really cares? They are still irrelevant.

Thank God for the Cardinals (and possibly the D-Backs this coming year).
