While I agree with the premise that the article presents (no games this year) I cannot find the reasoning behind making these cuts.

I can't claim to be an expert on the CBA, but if there are no games played this year, are salaries paid in full? How do they get game checks if no games are played?

The simple fact is that we dont need those guys that I mentioned.

I agree, but cutting them in a season that isn't played doesn't save money unless they are paid fully and/or get game checks every week when games aren't played.

Let's try this, if, as the article says, the 2020 season is cancelled, won't there be opportunities to deal, cut or keep these guys next year without effecting the salary cap?

The season is going to be played. I cant see them canceling now unless something really drastic happens.

Ok, then the article makes no sense. The whole idea was based on a premise that the 2020 season won't be played, and a significant saving could be had by cutting these guys.

you don't consider what's been taking place the last few months as really drastic?

The Jonathan Allen thing is plain stupid. He is the exact kind of player you get cap space to go after, and we have him cheap for two more seasons.

i would consider some kind of massive rebound of the virus as drastic which is what he is saying i think . and that would have to effect more then the .003 % of deaths we have seen so far

and since the NFL is opening up its facilities (some by Tues ) i think its a safe bet we will play games
