Too early to panic about the lack of production from the huge stable of young players/prospects yet?

Nope, people here are panicking, although which young guys prospects are not producing?

Seems like it is Moustakas and nobody else.

Sal P, Escobar, Muoustakas, and Cain off the top of my head....Hosmer has really picked it up after a bad start....

And do y'all have any young arms that are relatively close to making an impact up at the big leagues? Odorizzi was the one I could think of but he was in the Meyers-Shields trade, right?

Yordano Ventura is in AAA with one of the best fastballs in all the minor leagues. He might even get called up at the end of the year if the Royals got desperate for some stupid reason. He profiles as a top of the rotation guy as his ceiling. Same goes for the power throwing lefty Danny Duffy; whose velocity has returned after tommy john surgery from last year. Lamb unfortunately has lost his velocity from tommy john and is a non prospect at this point. Next year however, Zimmer could be in the mix for the rotation as well. He was the Royals top draft pick last year.

Another name who could be decent (or if he pitches like he did before tommy john, he could be fantastic, but I doubt that is very likely) would be Felipe Paulino. He has surprisingly been solid when he has pitched as a starter for the Royals so he intrigues me.

You might see both ( Ventura and Duffy) of them this year. Danny Duffy will more than likely be called up to replace Wade Davis who sports a sexy -2.0 War approximately.

Perez and Cain will be fine. Perez, Cain, and Escobar are excellent defenders which tends to mitigate the 'meh' bats they bring at the moment. Moose is more concerning, but his numbers have been around .270 Since June. Moose's power numbers also appear to be returning more recently. Moose has been a probable victim of a unreasonably low Babip anyhow.

George Brett is one of the all time greats to have ever played the game. Brings back some good memories. I was glad I was a Braves fan back then because we didn't have to play against Brett back then!

In a weird way, he is still the face of the Royals franchise to some people even though he has long since retired as a player.

I could see that. Hank Aaron is still considered THE ATLANTA BRAVE. Dale Murphy wasn't all that good (in comparison to Hank!) but he is the most popular Brave because he is such a cool guy and he was about the only decent player we had at the time.

How often do you see this? :omg: Five hits, 2 HRs, 14 total bases, walkoff for the cycle. May 28, 1979 at the K

George Brett was the kind of player that even Billy Martin and the mighty Yankees said "That Brett isn't going to be the one to beat us, we will walk him"...

Now that respect, old school and actually smart....make someone else beat you....the "keep pitching to Miggy" deal is utterly stupid....if I was a pitcher he wouldn't see a pitch, unless it was in his ribs, shoulder, thigh or foot...take your base and I will deal with Fat Slob.

As I never saw him play, my only memory of George Brett is the video of the story he told at spring training about the last time he shat his pants, and the fact that he does it about once a year.
