The ones that say, if Romo had been healthy, and Barack has been able to shit rainbows the Skins would not have won the Division.

So lets look at things from that perspective for a moment.

OK So Romo and Dez stayed healthy, Dallas ran away with the Division and swept the Redskins.

Where would that leave us??

Oh yea, at 8-8 still not looking for a QB because we are pretty set on moving forward with Kirk. Having doubled our win total from last year, with a solid GM and a solid direction.

So once again.... Yea I like that. :thumb:

Absolutely. Now I am not saying this is a given, but both the Seahawks and the Panthers had mega-seasons after a season where they squeaked into the playoffs with a relatively bad record in a bad division. This could bode well for the Redskins. No guarantees and obviously injuries are a factor.

Who really cares what the media or the tons of ignorant fans think about this team. There are a lot idiots and Redskins haters out there, and IMO their opinions are totally worthless. HTTR

The way I see it, any time you actually accomplish 75-80% of the goals you set out to achieve atthe begining of the season, you can only view the season as a success.

Our primary goals were

1. Figure out if ANY of the QBs on roster were worth moving forward with... Check
2. Improve the talent, youth and depth on the O-line.... Check
3. Improve on the running game.... Fail
4. Change the culture and the mindset in the locker room..... Double Check

All in all a successful season by most measuring sticks.

Sounds good - as a starting pt I would believe that these would be the goals for next season:

1. Ensure that you are truly competitive with any team in the NFL
2. Ensure continued success at QB
3. Improve the running game & run defense
4. Improve pass rush
5. Add more playmakers on defense
6. Continue to keep drama out of locker room

I have high hopes for all of these - we will see...

We still need a center. Licthensteiger is okay as a stop gap guy, but we really need to grab someone that can take over like Travis Frederick did for the, errrrr, Cowboys. As for the running game, what are we gonna do about Alf? I feel really bad for the guy, but this is business. I'm afraid he's lost a step and won't ever be the same guy he was in past years. If so, we may have to just let him walk.

AS crappy as this may sound. I see Bob and Alf both ending up in Jerry World at the end of the day.

Great. He can have them both. I wouldn't loose a whole lot of sleep over it.

IM hoping to see Bob go there actually, I collect train wreck footage and that would be my Piece De'resistance.

But Alf in Dallas... that would actually bother me a little.

It would bother me for Alf as I like him. But I don't fear him anymore as a RB that will hurt you.

I dont know, in a one cut system running a zone blocking scheme.... I think Alf would do well. And I really would not want to see them both twice a year. Because as much as I think RG3 in Dallas would be like a sequel to The Day After Tomorrow. Putting these two in Dallas with a point to prove would still turn out to be a royal pain in the ass for us twice a year.

Back to the original topic.....

One year in, Scot McCloughan has already transformed the Redskins

Excerpts

Seeking good players
From there, McCloughan dove headfirst into pre-draft evaluations, because the draft, as he puts it, is “the lifeline of your organization.” Sure, the team would make signings in free agency, but McCloughan wouldn’t chase the biggest names or hand out blockbuster deals. He would be selective and financially shrewd. Draft-acquired building blocks lead to greater long-term success, he preaches.

McCloughan wanted size, versatility and players from winning backgrounds. He didn’t just want offensive and defensive stars. He also sought special-teams standouts.

“We just want to have good football players at any position,” he said while scouting talent at last year’s Senior Bowl. “If the guy is a dang good football player, that gives us a chance to win, not just for this year, but for the future, then that’s what I’m going for.”

Now as the offseason begins, Phase Two of McCloughan’s rebuild kicks off. The Redskins emerged from this season having identified their quarterback of the future while nailing down other key pieces to the puzzle. But much work remains, McCloughan says.

“Got to get better. Got to get better,” he tells anyone asking about the roster.

And so, the acquisition of more building blocks will continue.

“He’ll be relentless,” Casserly predicts. “He’s not giving up.”

I can see Bob going to Jerry World, but it would break my heart to see Alf go there too. It's bad enough that we'll probably part company with him, knowing that he's telling us that he wants to stay with us for life. I just don't know what's happened to him. Chances are that he's really done. If so, what a terrible thing to happen to such a great guy.

Hey - bring it on! Moving forward the Redskins have to be at the pt where they can play with just about anyone. Other teams are going to improve regardless so the Redskins have to be ready to handle it. I won't get overly upset if some ex-Redskins thrive elsewhere (including rivals) since that likely will be a sign that the Redskins are improving to the pt where improving talent lets them get rid of pretty good players.

Perhaps, but I don't see anything really special @ a RB who recently only rips off a handful of big runs per game usually proceeded by numerous 2 yd or less runs. This could be primarily due to line play, but it certainly doesn't appear that way.

i saw 2 problems missed blocks up front from our guards and center as well as TE . i saw missed reads by ammo as well i saw hesitation .

now the question is why ? did he struggle learning the offense or was he overused early in his career ?

again he is most likely gone because we need a guy who hits the hole hard

Alf was not the same runner this year that he was his first 3 years. He was hesitant, missed many holes and was routinely tackled by the first defender that hit him. Some of this may be piss poor run blocking, but not most of it. Alf was used heavily since his arrival here, I fear he may be on the down side. I would welcome him back, but at a contract that he would probably find as an insult. Its probably best that we let him test the FA waters. see what the open market offers and maybe he comes back once his value has been set. In any event I wish the best for him as he is a great teammate.
