third round reversal

I am not championing the third round reversal. I am questioning it. It would not be a a commonly used draft rule in fantasy leagues if it was so awful.

But I guess people around here don’t like it, and don’t consider it at all. Which really surprises me since we are all fantasy junkies.

Maybe it is more used in “expert” leagues and rarely in normal friends/family leagues.

Never heard of the format.
Most leagues with returning members just give the first to the last place team / new member which evens it out.
Also sounds like the reversal just shifts the teams at the back of the draft from getting screwed, only to screw the team right outside the tier break.

depending on how late the tier break is... but yes... that was my intention of the thread to see if anyone is in a league with third round reversal, if they like it, and if there is a modified one...

Draft reversal sounds like a rule for people that are terrible at developing and implementing a winning strategy within the current rules, so they make one up to try to "even the playing field" against a nonexistent advantage.

If you've played fantasy football long enough, you've won and lost from all the draft positions.

This isn't just an old man yelling at clouds, I'm very open to new tweaks and unique league settings, but this one sounds F'ing dumb. Just gives off crybaby vibes.

expert tiers... nobody has ever said that it is affective every season...

and this is not a MILK trying to change things up rule... this is a rule that is MANY expert leagues... mostly superflex and deeper leagues...


i also think people need to understand there is a difference between end of season outcomes, and preseason projections... just because it is possible to win at any position does not mean every position is equal...

understood you were just bringing the concept convo and not trying to implement this into any current leagues, apologies if my comment was taken as vs you, it was intended to be against the concept.

But I also don't have any money leagues that give a cash prize for "Best Draft" or "Most Projected Points Before The Season Starts".

All of mine are based on scoring the most points or winning the most matchups. If your leagues are the same, I'd focus more energy on figuring out how to be the best at the categories that give prizes vs what changes can we make so owners on the bookends feel better about their drafts.

Most leagues that implement the rule implement it every season. Which is also probably a problem because the intention is about dramatic tier drops. But there will always be seasons where that doesn’t exist.

So I don’t know if data is going to be strong here.

But there is always data about which draft position wins the most championships. So I guess you can always use that data to show whether there is an inballance that year.

But even if it exists that is still the results. Results are irrelevant.
