I’m not happy about this. While Columbus may have been a bad guy, his importance to the catholic immigrants of the late 1800’s cannot be overstated. The Knights of Columbus, and these murals show how groups of immigrants tried to align themselves with Columbus as a way to gain acceptance to the existing population at that time. Hopefully covering the murals will be a short term response to Columbus’ history and not impact telling the story of Catholic history in the US.

Yes. The fraternity is still around. They are just selling one of their biggest locations in the are. All fraternal groups have been hurting. People dont join them like they used to. My lodge is feeling the same squeeze

It is the last 2 generations just dont have that same fraternal movement that those before them did

Which sucks. At my lodge we are constantly trying to find a way to be a better part of the community and help others but without interaction of new members it gets increasingly harder every year.
