Did those Niners ever lose to the Rams?

I'm sure they did but I don't recall it ever happening...
I know they won 17 in a row against the rams in the 90s but it seems like they did very well against them in the 80s as well.

I always felt the 1989 was the best team, relative to the other team that year. The 1994 team was clearly good too, but IMO didn't dominate as much as the 1989 version.

The 1989 version was SO GOOD, they should've won it in 1990 too. AAHHHHHH.......
I agree. The 89 team was probably the best, most complete team in NFL history. I still haven't gotten over Craig's fumble while running out the clock against the Giants and the phantom PI calls against Lott and Eric wright with which the refs stole the 83 NFC Championship game from them against the Redskins. They won 5 but it easily could have been 8 even though they were up against some of the best teams in NFL history throughout that run.

They rarely did. The one game I do remember the 49ers losing to the Rams was the strike shortened 1982 season. The 49ers lost to the Rams at the end of the season which knocked the 49ers out of playoff contention. That is the only meaningful game I can remember.

SF lost several games to the Rams....and some of them were actually noteworthy. Jerry Rice's coming out party in 1985 on Monday Night was against the Rams when he went for 200+ yards......the Niners lost that game. The 1988 regular season finale, SF lost (didn't try because their seeding was locked up), but I remember the Giants threw a big stink about it because that Rams win put them in the playoffs and the Giants were eliminated from playoff action. The 1989 and 1990 Niners only lost 2 games in each regular season - and both times one of those losses were against LA.

Destroyed The Rams in the 89 NFC title game though.
