Big whoop.

Epstein and Brian Cashman are easily the most overrated GMs in sports.

Give me $200 million+ dollars a year at my disposal too and I'll be the best GM in MLB history.

The Cubs have some money to burn too so I'm sure he can be "successful" there as well.

If successful means one title, i'll take it. There are some great players on the North Side right now. A-Ram if we re-sign him, Castro, Marmol, Garza, A Healthy Cashner, and a level-headed Zambrano all have the potential to be some of the best guys at their respective positions. Byrd, Pena, and Marshall are all well above average. This team just needs to give a full effort every day. Watching the apathy on this team has been disgusting the last two years. If Epstein can get guys who give 110% and can motivate their teammates to do the same while getting rid of Soto and Soriano and the rest of the apathetic guys, he can be just what we need.

Those two don't compare to the Ninja Jon Daniels of the Rangers!

I am going to have to agree with TexasMan there. Epstein is very overrated. Epstein has had some good success but I think the question is whether he was a catalyst or whether he is just another self promoter taking other people's credit. Even if he turns out to be a good gm, and I doubt that, it is going to take a long time to turn around that Cubs squad. They need to trade everybody off and start over.
